Hello, I'm Sqeaky Schmee 123 and I've super-excited to have my order in for this limited release McClaren to hopefully resell later at an inflated price....

yawn.
They ain’t selling thou, he admits his long tail has dumped a tonne of cash, there was a senna with 1k miles for 250k under list on a trader and Harris on his podcast was talking about 720s hitting 150k second hand

There are 6 senna on PH for between £745-800k for an ultimate car of just 500 units that was supposed to be a safe investment that’s a lot of cars ‘cheap’

It’s certainly a tough time for manufacturers and dealers right now.

Try trading-in any supercar right now and you will get a serious haircut. Even Ferrari aren’t immune.
Series production cars are worst affected. I guess that’s why we’re seeing so many limited editions being released as historically they’ve held their value better.
Not sure that will continue at this rate - supply & demand etc.

Maybe we’ll get back to people buying cars they want and can actually afford.

But that would almost certainly mean reducing production.
Problem is a lot of companies are relying on increased future volumes to balance the books. Entire business plans are built on it.
Just look at the trouble Aston Martin are in. Share price at c.£4 down from £19!
That’s why they are releasing images of the Vantage convertible so early. They want customers to defer from buying a competitor now and save their money for the Vantage.
Given the nature of customers in this category who generally don’t like waiting that’s a big ask.
They also REALLY need the DBX to sell and sell fast.

Some brilliant cars out there and in development but worrying times nonetheless.
