The worse road conditions get, the more at home Subarus tend to feel. Bumpy, slippery, loose surfaces just make it more fun.

Quite different to some other cars which feel better and sharper on smooth grippy roads/tracks but get easily flummoxed by more 'rural' road conditions.
This is a good point and another reason I love mine. I take my WRX wagon out shooting a fair bit and me & my mate will be nipping around the back roads and country lanes with it soaking up the mud, wet, pot holes verges etc. I always drive as he’s got a modern Audi S3 with 19” wheels and it is diabolical on anything other than a smooth A road, it crashes around and feels terrible. He wouldn’t see which way I went down a country road.

I do agree they’ve got character and also with what someone said about a test drive and living with one. It’s a rare car in that the longer I own them the more fond I get, unlike most modern cars where you’re wowed by the initial look and acceleration and realise they’ve shown all their cards early and it’s downhill from there.

I also have a classic sti which is about 330bhp and is all you need on the road, it feels faster than it probably is (which suits me in today’s world) and power to weight isn’t bad. These modern 4wd hatches (which are also the fake 4wd) are almost 500kg heavier!

Eakimo breaks down, and calls the AA - stomps around a while whilst his face gets colder and colder. Finnaly AA turns up and says - "you've blown a seal".

The eskimo replies - "tis just frost on me moustache".
