I know this doesn’t strictly fit the criteria for badly modified cars, but I thought I’d sneak in this recent offering on eBay. The arches are particularly impressive eek

This is actually illegal:
The common law offence of outraging public decency involves actions or displays in public places that outrage generally accepted standards of decency, in the presence of at least two people.

Will have to get some more of this one, the pictures really don't do it justice. Ropey as hell CLK convertible with magpie chrome bits, an awful damaged plastic DTM kit and purple metal flake paint that looks like it was administered with a garden hose.

Bonus bespoilered E36. Originally thought the orange nose was probably crash damage but starting to think it might have been a styling choice.

It'll be a homage to this;

Exactly my thought.

Though the grey bumper on the BMW is an interesting touch.

More likely they've had a bump and bought a new bumper which is still in primer and a secondhand nose panel in the wrong colour

Me too, but the orange fins on the spoiler tie in, so don't give up hope.

That's what made me think it might be intentional.

More likely it's a base model 1.6 and he's found a second hand M-Tec (or whatever they're called) bumper on Gumtree and then sourced another grille assembly to match. He's just not got round to rattle can'ing them in a shade vaguely similar to his own. I can assure, that bumper hasn't been bought new in primer... just, because... it hasn't.

Happened upon this while looking for a sensible Astra replacement, I've been a little bit sick.

It's also a couple of grand more than the unmodified, but still hideous Dodge Nitros.

Can I ask, what's the deal with stupidly loud obnoxious exhausts on older five door family cars ? Cars that most of the time are just basic school run cars, that are not modified in any way, but have a stupidly loud exhaust on them. Do the owners think they sound good ?

There's a knackered Mk5 five door silver Fiesta (with blue bumpers on it) that I often see around with a family in it, and you can hear the exhaust on it for ages before you see the car and it struggles to get down the road with them all in it.

Earlier today I saw a five door Mk4 Golf with a family in it, lardy wife sat in the back etc and it came along popping and farting, then I spotted the huge four inch exhaust on it. Like a Magnex from the old Escort RS Turbo days (I liked them on those though)

I imagine that the children will go deaf soon and they'll wonder why! rolleyes
