Shame that the Classic Giveaways prices are so expensive compared to say, DCD. Though obviously the odds are better.

Harder to justify the best part of a tenner than £3.

I see that DCG has a Evo 9 GT up, is that the one someone on here won?
That's me smile

I won it ~8 months ago. Took the car and was loving it but after not really using it through winter and some man maths later I was looking at what the value of my cars could buy if I sold them both. Messaged DCG saying I was thinking of selling the car and would they be interested and before I knew it the car was sold.

Kind of regret selling it so have many tickets to try and win it a second time around biggrin

If you get a question wrong on these sites do they take your money but not give you an entry? I'd expect people leaving salty reviews if that were the case but can't see how else you could do it?

When Aspire launched their new site recently they did away with the question stating they had taken advice and it wasn't needed.

DCG used to always put the wrong answer in for you when entering by post (regardless of what you actually put), they said it didn't matter at all, and you still got a ticket number so were in the draw.

There is absolutely nothing in the regulations that require a question, and they are miles off being challenging enough to make it a game of skill so that would never wash (and if that was the case, they wouldn't need to allow free entries). As far as I'm aware, BOTB is the only actual 'game of skill' car comp site.

BOTB = you pick a pixel, then someone else selects the winning pixel, and if you have that same pixel you win. The winning pixel is not predetermined, so unless you're mystic meg it's not *really* a game of skill. smile

Out of interest, if the car comps don't need a question to operate, what's the difference between them and a lottery? With no question, you get given an entry number, a winning number gets picked, and if you have that number you win. Sounds like the only thing not making it a lottery is having a question!

Edit: They're free draw comps. I stand by the fact there's no skill in BOTB biggrin

Had to have a punt on the DCG Imprezza ....Having two white cars with gold wheels parked side by side in the garage was enough to justify parting with a tenner.

I'm no longer going to play on 7Days. The odds are absolutely ridiculous and as everyone's mentioned, their instant wins feel like they're entirely geared towards exploitation.

ESTATE20 for 20% off @ 7 Days if anyone's interested.
Offer ends 10.30am 12/03/23.

Code was revealed in their latest YouTube clip, which also showed a GT4 that will be on site Sunday. Maclaren in the background too, along with a R34 & R35

Does anyone get emails from 7 days with draw results or you haven't won email. ?

Does anyone know if there's somewhere on their website/app to see draw results for free draws as I can't find anything

No I never had emails saying you haven't won from 7 Days.
The only way of checking the draw is by watching them on Facebook.

Yes but what you should be doing is picking the pixel where you think the judges are going to place it. (But then there are a few judges - so they take the average)

Probably one of their tactics is not to remind you that you keep losing...not keen on the way 7days operates and that's why I don't use them anymore.

Indeed, spot the ball has been a 'game of skill', avoiding lottery regs for many, many years.

In the Internet age I can't really see what else BOTB could do that would remove a significant percentage of people who enter. Questions (even tricky ones) can be gamed in seconds online

One site very briefly ran with a tricky sentence composition question (which seemed to work as intended!) but the anger online, from people used to 'what is the capital of England?' type questions on sites that don't need to actually ask one, seemed to cause one hell of a stir and very few entries.

Must say I’m tempted by the Grail Watch Club one tonight.

It’s £50/ticket, but max is 999 and it’s a £35k Rolex.

That’s pretty good odds, but would probably be better off dropping £50 on one of the car ones.

If I somehow win again it'll be a keeper for sure smile Even if I go crazy between now and comp end though this outcome is unlikely biggrin

Haha don't blame you. I think everyone has let a car go in their past that they regret.
