Need help with this one. Doesn't show as a DVLA auction plate and although WT was issued to West Yorkshire, from what I understand two letter reverse issues were WU, WW, WX, WY & YG. Could this be a special issue?
M3DGE, OD any ideas???
I agree, a head scratcher. _ concur with your research (from Newall) and the Woodall book also states CT as not reversed. 'Civic Specials' a diplomatic issues tend to be documented. So, I am guessing it is one of those where there was a debate over plate ownership, and they issued a one off. This happened a bit in the 60s and 70s following a period where councils could reissue void numbers - then the owner of the original car drags it out of he barn for resto, applies for a new log book and finds 'his' plate has been reissued. Now, any such issue would be non transferable, but back in the day re-registrations were just treated the same and could be sold on.

I like that. Looks like old money, plate is worth considerably more than the car.

Saw this earlier. I do admire their dedication to get a number plate for any occasion.

I saw a Ford Ranger (horrible colour) with the plate 801 LER. Made me smile!
Pimlico would be boiling mad to get their hands onto that one - provided they don't already own it.

Good job they seem to keep vehicles for AGES then compared to most business with a fleet!

Notice, they have 701 LET, which is so similar to 801 LER. See they have A801 LER and B101 LER.

8 OG and 80 G. Wonder how many Gs those two would have cost him.

Oh yes silly silly me, let me find the proper thread.
This reminds me of seeing a plate on an Orange Gallardo Spyder about 8 years ago in Bristol city centre that read:

16 HD on a large sprinter type van with no sign writing.

1BCN on a small Audi which is a great plate. But was previously made to look like 1 BEN with a screw cap. Which really irritates more than a rubbish plate made to look like something it’s not.

Spotted ‘OO 10’ on a small white van in Coventry this afternoon, strangely it comes up as a red BMW Mini.

Typo, presumably. There's a "LO 02 LOO" on a white VW, maybe that's it.

From eBay, £4500.00 + bits in 2012. I'm not a fan of these type of plates, but I am amazed to see one that it is as it should be.
