It looks similar to the name of the company but hasn't been butchered or mis-spaced - would seem pretty reasonable on that basis..

VEN

Took me a minute and would have liked to see the front

Today

VGC 1 on white Mercedes’ estate

And finally

2 W - think it was a Porsche

Funny you should mention that, I saw L 7777 on an old Focus yesterday, I'd never seen that format of plate before.
