Hello. I am new to Pistonheads and wanted to get any advice on car storage over the winter. I have just bought a 4 year old Lexus LC500 convertible. My plan is to keep it away from the elements during November through February. There is a place nearby to me (Bedford) that charges £160 plus VAT and £60 one off fee (carsafe.co.uk). I don’t think I need dehumidifier etc. but welcome any thoughts. Thanks!

Hi Ben and good morning to all!

I'm Emanuele from Italy, Milan.

I have always had a strong passion for cars and motorsport.
Today at 35 y.o. I have a few cars in my garage.

Last year I went to the Goodwood Revival and it was love at first sight for me.

With my own efforts I also managed to achieve some good results in rally competitions and races on track. I am a humble driver.

I signed up because I read one of your threads about a user who has a Vantage V8 and I wanted to get in touch with him.
I am often in London... maybe I will meet some of you: I would like to create new connections with some of you.... because it is nice to see so many enthusiasts car's lover like me.

Thanks

(sorry for my bad English)

Keeping it away from the worst of the winter seems sensible, although you would miss being able to drive it with the roof down on those crisp winter days. If you ask your question in General Gassing then you will get some useful replies (and maybe some not so useful ones too!)

Welcome to PH.

Hi Fanzo, no need for an apology - your English is great.
I see you have already posted in the reader’s car thread . If you haven’t already found it, there is a dedicated Aston Martin forum which is quite lively.

Hi,thank you for allowing me to join. I recently read some advice regarding Sorns and what can happen if you don't sorn your car.
I read a very informative reply from a member by the name of Pits.
I added him but don't know how to contact him on here for advice . Is there a search function to contact certain members, or is this not allowed?
Regards, Vw.

Hi, welcome to PH. There is the ability to pm members via their profile page but I don’t think this is available to new members.
You can start a new topic in General Gassing to ask your question
https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/forum.asp?h=0&...
You will get some helpful answers.

Just a brief intro and hello. I'm Paul, I've been a huge petrol head basically forever, and have owned all sorts over the years. In more recent times I've owned performance versions of Mercedes models and various Jaguar models including a C63, GLE63, F-Type, XFR, the list goes on.

I've been involved in the automotive sector for more years than I'd like to admit, having worked in various positions for vehicle manufacturers before starting my own successful tuning business back in 2008. We upgrade all sorts, but have a strong presence within the Jaguar Land Rover community. So any questions around JLR tuning, give me a shout.

I'm pretty active in various Facebook groups, but until now hadn't got around to joining Piston Heads.

Hi I’m new and in a bit of a quandary! I’ve just bought a car that I pick up on Monday, it’s a 2016 Renault Captur 1.5 auto cost £8995. I’ve just phoned my insurance about being able to drive my old car whilst up for sale, 2013 Peugeot 3008 they said no, we don’t do multicar and they won’t give me any grace period, changing my insurance over to the new car will cost another £75 on top of the 600 I paid outright last April, I’ve just gone on go compare and got fully comp on the new car for £465 and able to drive other cars 3rd party. My old insurance is currently till April so I expect a bit of a refund after they take their £75 cancellation fee, am I doing the right thing by moving it?
