Given the quantity (note: not quality wink) of life in there, clearly masochism isn't the niche it was once considered to be! hehe

Hello PistonHeads! Many thanks for approving me to the community.

Cars are my passion and hobby, not only means of transportation.
Any car I have I would aim to know it inside out and maintain/repair/upgrade myself as much as possible.
My current fleet as follows:

BMW 840i 1995 4.0 V8
Nissan Frontier 2008 4.0 V6
Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara 2015 3.6 V6
BMW X1 28i 2016 2.0 twin power
Volvo XC90 T6 2021 2.0 Twin-charged
Ford Transit Motorhome 2007 2.4TD

Had a few dozens of cars prior to - I feel the above variety is optimal for me (at the moment) - subject to change

Hi Simon. Welcome to PH.
I suggest you start a new topic in the car buying forum:
https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/forum.asp?h=0&...

Set out what you are looking for in a vehicle to replace the Defender and I am sure you will get plenty of suggestions.

You could post in the London regional forum to see if any locals have advice for you. If you don't mind travelling a bit and getting the train back into London, I use and thoroughly recommend Edenbridge Accident Repair Centre. Ask for Sam and say Ben from PistonHeads referred you.

Hi there, new to PH and my first post with a question regarding my Porsche Cayman 987.2 - the drivers side bonnet/boot release switch is faulty mostly the front bonnet and having looked online can see lots of aftermarket switches from around £20 compared to a genuine Porsche part costing £80. It appears like a simple DIY job (although one of the two screws nearest the drivers seat to remove the cill cover seems impossible to get access too??) so my question is has anyone replaced this with cheaper after market parts, any issues and was it an easy job??

Hi rnorwood, welcome to PH.
If you start a new thread in the Porsche Boxster/Cayman forum then your question will be seen by the right people:
https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/forum.asp?h=0&...
Good luck with the fix.

Hi John, welcome to PH.
I see you have started a new thread to ask about the issues with your van, it has been moved into the technical part of the forum. Hopefully someone will reply with some helpful info,
