That's what most crew cab pickups look like.
And done so that the pickup part can be removed and other body types put on.

The AA used them with a box back on them

Mitsubishi Starion 4wd Group B rallying homologation car. Possibly didn't exist up to the finished spec of these images, Group B rally cars were finished before this could be built for homologation.

Interesting. I hadn't seen that before. I'd seen photos of the prototype, which differed in a few details:

What I like about this is the tremendous thought and care the designers have gone to in order to ensure the cab zone flows seamlessly into the pickup. It doesn’t look like they shortened a saloon and welded it to another vehicle at all.
Sometimes designers can put so much thought in the design, that they forget to do any rustproofing - a different manufacturer

Before anyone gets sued, the article is referring to another pickup, by another manufacturer...

I'd never heard of that so Googled it. It is a shame it didn't make production.

Well it’s not good enough.
Invent one, you'll make a fortunesmile
Honda already did the Ridgeline - I'm not sure it improved upon the formula.

Spotted early Saturday morning at work

First thought when I saw the rear from a distance was a Nissan Stagea.... pretty rare.
Got nearer and went to the front for a picture, and the Evo front end baffled me.
Straight to Google for more info.

A Mitsubishi Evolution station wagon.

To be fair it is quite easy to spec up a Transporter/Transit/Sprinter/etc to that price level as well.

(Just looked, the base price of the electric Transporter is £44.5k, a diesel one starts at £29k)

The RV on them is awful and there's very little in terms of a dealer network which is why nobody buys them
