There’s just something not right about this iteration of QP. I’m slightly biased as I have the previous shape, but the fifth generation QP is the absolute epitome of class and elegance. This looks the total opposite with the tacky red addenda, that interior looks like it could be lifted straight from any number of bog standard 4 door saloons, and the exterior styling is bland. I’m sure that engine is an absolute monster, but to me the car misses the mark.
I’ll keep my old one, anyday.
This and this is from someone that has the current model. I’ll keep my old one, anyday.
Absolutely gorgeous car, tip of the hat to you and enjoy in good health.

If you get a bad one that’s not been looked after then it’s very expensive. This would be true of many cars of this type, not just these.
Get a well looked after one and they are good, probably Maserati’s best car. Of course they are not cheap to maintain, what do you expect, it’s basically a Ferrari saloon! I think they are a steal at the moment for what is probably the best looking and sounding saloon of all time. Just look at that green one, beautiful.
But as they have stopped depreciating now, and are starting to rise in value, I’d much rather pay 2k per year in running one of these that 4k a year on a depreciation modern box.

Thank you for the kind comments to all. To the poster who asked are they expensive to maintain... I touch wood as I say this, but both the QP and 4200 I had before the QP were/are unfailingly reliable. I serviced the QP last year at £700 and have spent £500 on four tyres and £100 on paint correction to bring the best back out of the paint.
The colour is called Verde Mexico, a special order colour but there are a few 3200s out there in this shade too.

Totally agree, first time I saw the current QP in the metal I was really disappointed, it struck me as a cheap far-eastern rip-off of the elegant original fifth gen - all the right styling cues, just stuck onto an ill-proportioned and unfortunate shape.samoht said:

The idea of spending £100k or thereabouts on a car, only to have it leave you stranded frequently, would immediately rule out the entire brand for me.
Leave you stranded? Frequently? It never happened during my ownership & I've supplied a fair number of Maserati's & they seem to be pretty reliable.robsco said:

If you're thinking about a QP there's a PH buyers guide
I have been tempted massively but the right car has not appeared when I'm in a plunge-taking vein.

I had a 4200 Cambiocorsa Coupe for 7 years and average annual running cost excluding insurance was £1k/year, for which I'm not complaining. Generally the electrics were the weakest link, but if you join the Forum and pay attention (in particular transmission oil pump relay replacement) you can run a 4.2 V8 for not a lot of cash (other than the fuel obviously). Proud to have owned a piece of Italian Exotica for at least some of my motoring history (daily driver now is am F-Type V6S) Get a well looked after one and they are good, probably Maserati’s best car. Gorgeous cars - these have soul. The Granturismo is more than 10 years old, but just look at the thing - it's sex on wheels!
I remember seeing an article about the fastest depreciating cars available, and the QP was in there, losing something like 70% in 3 years. I'd still have one!
That is a thing of beauty. Still gorgeous, far better than anything on the market now. This, or a buck toothed M4? I know where my money would go! If only there was a manual version.I remember seeing an article about the fastest depreciating cars available, and the QP was in there, losing something like 70% in 3 years. I'd still have one!
