I love the Jag and the 300c because the red suits it but the grill would have to go

Honest sounding LS400. Nice colours and DHP alloys:

Sellers name seems somewhat familiar.... wink

Some appealing barge fodder on CC within budget (currently):

I love that. Great colour and no two-tone interior. The early E55 saloons are such a fantastic looking car.

I'm not trying to start this volume's first argument, but it looks st in that colour.

On a scale of Prius to E65, how likely is it that one of these would throw up repair bills that exceed the fuel cost?
I'd struggle to find a better place to park £3.5k and have it v8 powered.
Checking in. That Jeep does seem really good!
+1 if the mechanicals are decent then the cosmetic imperfections could be dealt with or lived with. You'd not be too precious throwing bikes or logs into it either.

The E55 and LS400 also posted are sweet. This is a strong start to vol 19.

If that LS400 was closer I'd be tempted to go have a look.

You'd be safe buying that unseen - olly is one of the basta bastions of the Thread and knows his onions when it comes to Lexi.
I recall reading about the work that just went into refurbing those fab DHP alloys.

I certainly would.
(Mind you, I've bought several barges unseen from different threadistes, for that is the way in which I roll. Word.)

My initial reaction is that a 5 series should possess a V8, to lug the weight effortlessly.
Normally wouldn’t disagree Michael, but as we know with the V8 of this era you may not lug anything very effortlessly whilst laid-up with a terminal oil leak wink
I cannot disagree with you there, having owned an E63 645Ci. Fortunately, I had the BMW Mondial warranty.

We need to be in Poole for 1pm tomorrow and we were both working until 4 today so we had to stop somewhere. This is a little over halfway, it’s a potential school for the young r129sls (who screamed from the back seat every 30 seconds, “why won’t he get out of our way!”) so it’s an opportunity to get them used to the town and the idea.

You can kill me later.
Very nice, having followed your travels for a while now, there's always an element of research which gets a mental 'bookmark'; we were looking at Stonyhurst for a while, but the eldest was accepted into a local day school (he performed above expectations smile ). Is it a handsome town? I suppose you can always update your W463 thread, to save this one being de-railed too much.

Poole from the NE is quite a long drive!

Our car, too, is full of expectant occupants keen to 'make progress'...

Didn't realise it was a thread owners car!

Oundle is a lovely town and the surrounding area is too. We meet some friends there who have to live in London.

Like the Lexus, Jeep, 300c. Unsure about the white Jag.

I like that Lexus and it’s pedigree. If I wasn’t comfortably tucked up with my barge and mini barge I’d buy that. Barge value right there. Good luck with the sale olly.

I'm not a fan of stance/euro but those custom widened steelies are rather good and the car sits well. Just a tad too much tyre stretch on the rear.

I like it too, however it's just a bit too far for me (four/five hours without breaks) Would be a comfy ride home though.

I seem to be developing a strange desire for high power suvs, jeep and porsche give off a strange attraction.

I've even started to like my wife's rx400h.
