That's pretty magnificent, itsn't it? 15 years from now, if that still looks like that, then it'll be a jaw-droppingly elegant way to arrive.
That does look lovely - colour coded sideskirts too

I'm sure the ad said it is a facelift - did the facelifts have orange indicators?

First one did, then I think they went clear later on, some point after the facelift with the new headlamps with the scoops on the lower edge.

I think the facelifts kept the gingers, but the 750 facelift had clears

Later facelift cars (either 1999 or 2000 I think) went clear. My old 728i (2000 plate) had clear indicator lenses as standard.

I looked at a few of these some years ago, when they were all the rage on much earlier volumes of this thread. I really like the look of them and am still sorry I never got one, but I really dislike the colour coded side skirts. Were they standard on the Sport models? I think they make it look too solid and slab sided and detract from the otherwise long, low, profile of the car.

The issue is that the BMW has stripes in the 'fabled' Motorsport colours but is only a puny 2.5 with M Sport plastic guff attached so it's trying way too hard.

The Peugeot meanwhile has stripes that aren't trying to elevate it into something it isn't.
Having said that I don't think white is the right colour for those RCZs but they do a nice Rover Nightfire Red which makes a nice change from the almost ubiquitous black.
The Pug stripes are trying to emulate the WRC Peugeot Sport look....

SOTW this week is a dog eared silver W220 that looks so rough in the pics that it's bound to be an utter nail in person, for £1,500. It does appear that the days of the serviceable and presentable sub £2k barge are long behind us frown

I think you are correct unfortunately, but I live in hope.

Have we had this 300E at 3.5? Looks really nice. I expect it's a second or third post of it so apologies in advance, lol!
I rather like that. I wonder how scruffy it is in real life?

Popped into my usual garage to arrange a retest yesterday, and had a proper nose around this, including getting it up on the ramp. What a machine!

Also, it appears to be for sale on Car and Classic...
Same one I saw a couple of weeks back. It was at Gawsorth Hall Youngtimers Show.

ETA the dealer appears to be a bit of a barge fan: http://www.igmpedigreemotors.stockpages.uk/?startr...

That IGM guy also has a Crown Majesta on the way at a few k's over thread (using the Friday pass here)... no threadist here would like my sporty Athlete so here's the full waft-mobile, and the most comfy/best specced Toyota/Lexus below the Century;

S180 vintage few dash cracks showing from the pics just like mine - but they all do that https://www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk/toyota/crown/...

Only needs a little bit of de-fun before it's 100% ready for a threadist smile Comes with swing air vents, green digital clock and a mini-disc player, fitted with a V8 too cool

Seller going for the world's "shytest pics in an ad" award notwithstanding, we have here a an SL320 that isn't a rusty skip for near enough thread. MOT history shows it has had little love but how far wrong can you go?

I like that but I would want a V8.

Some curious photography techniques based, I suspect, on a potato, but a car that is now pretty rare and which will outlast the most long-lived cockroach. Pity it's white, but what a cool thing. Didn't these have 4 wheel steering? And I bet it has a green digital clock for the win; hard to be sure, potato man didn't bother getting anything pictured inside.

I got a little excited about that until I looked at the advert and the MOT history as we just happen to be heading up past there this evening to spend the weekend away for our 10th wedding anni.

A lack of details but it looks like the 2.0 model and not the rapid (2.2VTi?) version with the four wheel steering. I came very close to buying a lovely burgundy version of the following generation a good few year ago. I've always liked them.

MOT history also suggests it has been fighting metal cancer for quite a while.

Thinking about it, I don't think my wife would have been too impressed with a detour for her to spend an hour or so sat in the car while I crawled all over a sporty 30 year old japanese model...
The later '92 on model had the 2.2 VTEC(yo). This earlier iteration is a tad more sedate.

I really like the look of this, but I have no idea what size it is?! Is there a UK model that it is similar too?
