Has anyone mentioned this coming up at Anglia Car Auctions in November? Its a top-of-the-range 1997 Citroen Xantia 3.0i V6 Exclusive. Must have cost a lot of money new.

There no details yet in the listing but it looks like it might have an LPG conversion (drivers side rear bumper has a black circle). Anyway, a very clean looking car for its age and mileage.

This thing looks immense. What a lush colour - paradise green! 2.8 V6, Recaros, 19 stamps, manual. Sure, the fuel economy isn't going to be great but just LOOK at the thing. Rear seats look unused, the alloys are refurbished, and the paint gleams.

Perhaps £6000 is outrageous for such a car but compared to what it must have cost new, with inflation, it still seems compelling to me. Maybe you lurkers here in the smoker barge thread will agree.

Pretty certain that someone here will buy this before I can afford it, which won't be until January next year. smile

Volume 20 ahoy.

In the spirit of the long, good Friday here's a Jaguar that's a few thousand outside the top end, but, to me, seems like a huge amount of car for a relatively low price. I really like the XF shape, I think it will age well.

I feel I am able to vent this here and be understood...

I've just put the XKR through its MOT, which I felt was a bit of a lottery, but I was very pleased to hear it "only" needed two front tyres. Until I remembered that they are only six months old, and were a full set of Michelin Pilot Sports. Turns out the tracking was out and because I've done about 2500 miles this month, the inside edges are worn to bald whilst the rest are still 7mm plus. So I had to stick Dunlops on at £300 (no Michelin in stock) plus £50 to get my local tyre place to bump me up the queue to stay inside my MOT slot. So now both my wallet and my OCD hurt.

Yes, several times, but it’s nice (divisive LPG aside perhaps) so well worth airing again.

I agree, but 100 photos in an advert though - click, click, click, click...still not got to a shot of the interior.

Last volume seemed to cover a lot of ground very quickly (Just like a barge should) but it actually wasn't as quick as prev vol

That looks absolutely splendid, if a little boring on the colour front. Not many will have the NA 5.0 V8 - I bet that goes very nicely indeed, I assume like a 5.5 211.

Different budget, but I once did the same with a Goodyear on my Clio. Commiserations.

Following on from end of the last thread, I think the QP will have to go as I can’t have a saloon for fun, will probably keep for 6 months or so and then no doubt take a bath when I come to shift it on.

I will then go back to having two cars, one for daily (and getting expenses miles) and one for fun!

I’ve never owned a Volvo …
