It’s perfectly good if you buy a home market LHD one. Loads of room for Both feet then. The problem is only on the export spec RHD ones… of which they will sell so few, it hardly features. vive la France!

Ooof....looks rough from the rear. Lights off a bus!

Double cabs sell well though, they should get this to the US ASAP...
Why would any one over there buy one over the Wrangler pick up?
I think this would go down like a sh!t sandwich in the US. Not only does it look like crap, I'm sure it's price means it won't compete at the 'lower'/works end where Toyota, Ford, RAM, Chevy et al. dominate. It the 'higher-end', well I can't see where or how it competes with Rivian and the F150 Lightening (not to mention the other e-trucks on the way). There's also a fair amount of skepticism over EV trucks (although it's slowly changing).

I really do hope they succeed somehow but I just can't for the life of me see who buys this. As others have already said, if this was coming out of China or a Soviet factory, I would believe it.

The AMG GT2 has been deleted it seems (the article anyway) but the title still tells you beholding was necessary:

I found the footwell fine with average “rugged “ shoes on, after all, it’s an auto. There is a lot of negativity about its creator, but in the metal it’s very impressive imho ( former Land Cruiser user.)

I can't see those unprotected tail lights lasting too long ….

Otherwise, with the ridiculous prices being achieved by Landrovers - any Landrovers it seems, there is certainly a market for a vehicle which is genuinely usable off road …. the current offerings of Far-eastern 4WD pickups are suitable for builders and that's about it.

The trick will be for Ineos to resist the temptation to get too clever and produce a vehicle which is all-but a Landrover and without the badge. If they can resist the temptation to fit gimmicky bells, whistles and gongs and produce a car which is technically well balanced and which will cope with genuine all terrain, then they will most assuredly find a ready and welcome market.

If yesterday's answer worked, then why overthink the issue? All too often when the wheel is re-invented, it turns out to be of square shape ~ and that goes for politics too! …. just a thought!

It certainly gives the impression of one of those media infections whereby suddenly everyone in the office is saying the same buzzword in the way that all small children appear to go through a phase of saying 'basically' in every sentence. biggrin

'Behold, Clive is running late'. 'Behold, whose turn to get coffee is it?' Behold, here is your P45'

Behold, this pick-up looks a bit awkward and needs a body kit, a lift and ideally an extra pair of wheels if it really wants to sell to the target market.

Thanks for some actual info on this aspect, was putting me off but an LHD would be fine. So many crusty out of date carpers on this thread, it's decent vehicle for its intended market not a Defender shopping & caravan tower.

They're classics and, crucially, have heritage.

Looks great!

scratchchin Leaving the politics and derivative looks aside...
From what I've read from genuine potential users, the Grenadier does seem to be a well thought out, solid and capable piece of kit. The chassis strength seems particularly appreciated, as does the sourcing of components from some of the best in the business.

As for the complaints about the rear lights, they are the same as the station wagon. Ineos themselves explain that there is no difference between the left and right unit, and that they are of commercial quality. For it's target, that all seems very well thought out!

I'd love one, but sadly, have neither the need nor the funds.

But still yesterday's problem. As someone who lives and works in a rural area, Landies have been largely superseded now. Sadly. And an updated version like the Grenadier doesn't change that. May work in central London, but not here. I hope I am wrong.

Although it was the Station Wagon I examined in detail, the rear lights are the same as the Pick-up. I can’t see it as being a deal breaker if a potential buyer likes the rest of the vehicle. I must say I’ve never consciously noticed bus lights (till now). Also with a hint of irony I notice that there has been a number of posts on PH generally about car design being far too fussy: too many creases, slashes, oversized grills, etc yet these lights are simple and symmetrical.
