These have 315/30R23 tyres..... They're over £500 EACH! That's ridiculous!

Reading other reviewers (EVO, Car&Driver, The Drive, TopGear, etc) as well, the good news is almost everyone is universal in their disdain for the XM.

The slightly bad news is that a few mention the order books are already well padded.

I’m genuinely more excited by new Hyundai or Kia products than almost all BMWs these days
I'm genuinely more excited by anything Dacia does these days, and I can afford one of those.

Some feat - That is so bad that it is almost as if they have developed something as profound as a new colour - They have achieved the impossible, the ugliest car on planet earth.

This seems like the very worst way to melt icebergs

The BMW design team is the gift that keeps on giving.
At this point it looks like a social experiment to see how far they can push atrociously vile design. So far they are outdoing themselves.

Is this the low of BMW car design? Surely it must be, can it go any lower? Utterly awful. If these were free with a packet of Hobnobs I would give up eating biscuits.

Just showed the opening photo to my partner who does not follow cars and she laughed and went, "that's horrendous. What the hell is that!??!?"

If I had an excess of funds, I’d happily buy one of these.

Just so I could push it off the nearest cliff (may even look better after).

My God it's hideous, why would anyone spend that much money on something so ugly and so well beaten by all of the alternatives at that price point. DBX 707 for me or Cayenne Turbo GT.

I hate it, and the contrast to some of the lovely 80s BMs people have posted is really quite depressing.

But, and a big but - 200 comments and counting. It’s clearly causing a storm and I imagine BMW will consider that very much job done.

The Carwow review on YT - red with gold trim. I think Stevie Wonder specced that one. Good choice of car for him actually.
