I can confirm the weight. I had mine corner weighted and there is no penalty from doing the swap.

Removed pics put up earlier as it is pretty scruffy and was based on a £1000 car years ago - never gets washed and doesn't really do the current high quality restomod Rocketeer cause much good smile

Not quite!

I have had a change of heart and decided to keep it!

I was looking to change it for an Elise S1 or S2 purely as I fancied a change, but if it is good enough for PH to single out of the classified’s then I would be crazy to let it go.

I for one would love to see a head to head road test between a Rocketeer, S1 and S2 !

Really wanted one of these about 7 years ago, but they weren’t ready. So, I ended up with a V6 flavoured MGF.
It still has a lovely tune behind your head, but with the added bonus of no headgasket failures :P

Can anyone let me know if the Mazda box fitted straight onto the Jag engine or did it need an adapter plate?

The Rocketeer kit comes with adapter plate. You need to cut out a small section of the gearbox to clear the Jaguar starter motor but pretty easy to do

Car is back for sale if anyone is interested.

Been sitting on the fence a bit - really like this car and will miss it but at the same time fancy a change

Pity I don't have the funds / space / forgiving enough wife for 2 weekend toys!

Ha - you were ‘everyone loves this, why am I getting rid’

Then ‘wife modE’ got engaged ?

Looks a belter tbh, and cheaper than me doing mine - but then it wouldn’t be ‘mine’ irked

Going for the right outcome.

I have renewed it on PH - strange I have paid and had an email to say my ad is live but for some reason it is not showing. I have emailed PH for them to look into it.

It is also advertised on Car and Classic

Hi UM

It's a lovely car/colour/interior, really like how you have kept the relatively standard look, and nothing to point to what's under the bonnet.
Just out of interest how have you found getting insurance for such a thing? Do the usual companies stay away and specialists only? Without asking you what you pay, do they offer reasonable premium?

APlan insurance recognise the Rocketeer kit so easy to insure- I pay £125 a year for 2k miles with all modifications declared and agreed value

Oh that's good. Certainly a big positive for any potential buyers
