It is indeed an epic engine. Very little lag and hardly trying at 5.5 twin turbo'd litres to produce 550bhp. A simple stage 1 remap is 650-700bhp which is still only 120bhp litre, so it stays tractable at low revs and gets really angry at high revs.

Do these all have bloody tints from the factory? Such a pity. It's a very minor thing in a way, but they're just so ghastly, I don't think I could!

Yes, but was it universally or near universally taken up?

No. Two of mine were factory clear, two tinted.

Very sadly they were never sold in North America. Would have had one in a flash.

Love those.

That and the saloon are quite a strikingly brave shape for a mainstream manufacturer to have gone for.

I never understood why the boot needed to have a lip instead of offering a flat load in bay like an Eclass estate. Maybe a structural issue.

I bet it’s had the nuts ragged off it for quite a few of those miles.

Service ‘not due until May’ - so pretty much due now and the owner wants shot (wisely) before he has to shell out for it.
