It's in the bag with tyre inflator in the boot. There is a little pocket on the inflator bag that had the locking nut in it. Should be left hand side of boot.
Very easy to miss. Mind you, tyred do seem to last. Or mine did.
Doh, I had a look in the little bag and saw the pump and fluid. Very easy to miss. Mind you, tyred do seem to last. Or mine did.
I didn’t realise there were 2 compartments in there and yes that and towing rod are in the second.
Thank you.

I see yours is in 'non-pro pack' with the P-Zeros (but nicer wheels IMO). How are you finding the tyres? They were absolutely awful on my F80 M3, but appreciate x-drive and less power may suit them better...tallpaul26 said:

Hi PaulI haven’t driven it in extremis to feel much of a difference, the biggest thing to notice is it a heavy ol’ Bertha you certainly feel the weight in quick turns, so you tend to take the steering lock off as soon as you can before applying power rather than progressively unlocking and applying power as you would with something more agile. I would have to drive both to back to put any difference on the tyre itself.
I have the PS4S on my GT3, had on my little Audi A3 & GR Yaris but not on my Boxster which was N rated PZero a bit grip grip grip no-grip-what-so-ever.. be quick to catch it.
I think the 240 is more torque - drive smooth and fast.

I'm getting a Fire Red one next month as my next company car.
I've owned most stuff so it takes a lot to get me excited these days. I have to say I did grin like a little school boy when I got told I was being given it
Congrats, I do like the red and that would have been my choice but went ideal spec over colour.. the Brooklands Grey of mine has grown on me.I've owned most stuff so it takes a lot to get me excited these days. I have to say I did grin like a little school boy when I got told I was being given it

Yes, the point of losing grip was indeed a cliff-edge on the M3 too. There’s an AUC car I’m hovering over reserving and I think the £750 to swap to PS4S would be an absolute must to factor in. t should be perfectly easy to achieve a figure like this under certain conditions.
For example reset while on the move then short period average from driving along a flat section of motorway using cruise control set to say 58mph, but as a whole journey point to point average with a mixture of road types...NO!
Whenever I hear people mentioning abnormally high mpg figures they have achieved, I usually take it with a large pinch of salt.
It's a similar thing when somebody boasts about their car insurance being unusually low, because there is always a reason for it.

That was a single day with the trip reset at the house. I drove from Belfast to Strabane for a meeting, then from Strabane to Dublin (with the one way, bumper to bumper city traffic that entails). About 215 miles. Every type of road on that route.
No reason to lie or embellish. Average over 20,000 miles is about 26mpg.

"Bumped to the top" you say...well I had to go searching for my post to see when I made it. Turns out it was over a month ago with about 34 posts inbetween. All you said in your post that I was replying to was simply - "I managed 49mpg out of my m340 in eco!"
Now this on its own seems at best optimistic, but you have added the important details now.
I still reckon that is a very high figure that relatively few would be able to replicate.

I'm now 32,000 miles into my M240 and 10,000 miles into my M2, obviously using the 240 far more as my daily which I did with the OG 240 and M2 which i still have, but this time my opinion has changed in favour of the 240 been the better of the two... yes the M2 is quicker but doesn't feel that much quicker where as the OG did,the 240 can be so easy and comfortable to drive but has enough power when needed to feel something special...

Thinking a decent OG M2 will be £10k less and likely done much of its depreciation.

Bumped to the top just means somebody else has responded to an old thread so it reappears where one would otherwise have forgotten about it. Anyway. It was straightforward. It's a big, efficient engine that isn't particularly taxed. The B58 is a remarkable unit. All you said in your post that I was replying to was simply - "I managed 49mpg out of my m340 in eco!"

Shows 45.2 in the second image. You'll just have to take my word it was 49 when I arrived and 45.2 by the time I'd missed my turn and went around the one way system in Friday afternoon traffic again.

Right I get you now, so you must have went back 2 full pages to read the replies made after your previous post.It is irritating that pistonheads does not provide notification of replies.
I completely agree...the B58 is an amazing engine!

No. I have 100 posts showing per page. Ergo your post showed right there on page one. Two posts under mine, which was highlighted bright blue and hard to miss.It is irritating that pistonheads does not provide notification of replies.

I have zero idea why this is important to you and to be honest it's coming across a bit odd. Have a lovely day.

Seeing as you are starting to come across as passive rude now I have lost all interest in conversing with you.I have zero idea why this is important to you and to be honest it's coming across a bit odd. Have a lovely day.

ave to say I am struggling to get my head round the figures you have stated. I'm certainly not suggesting you are lying, but just that you will surely be in the minority for achieving that level of low fuel consumption with such a powerful engine together with xDrive.
You surely cannot be enjoying the performance and regularly driving quite sedately.
Just to pick up on one point...you seem to be saying it is not possible to reset the average fuel onsumption on the cars on board computer at any point during a journey. This is what i was referring to and I have never had a car where this was not possible.
I really like the M240i and am thinking of buying a new one in the next year or so. I am good at getting the best put of my cars in regards to fuel consumption, so what you have said is very encouraging to me because the M240i is slightly better on fuel than the M340i.
I will not be doing regular long motorway journeys like you though.
M240i - I did a week’s trip down to Cornwall and averaged 42mpg on way down, 40mph on way back, 31mpg doing short trips during the week. Loads ot torque, great auto gearbox that gets you up in high gears as soon as possible when in Eco mode. You surely cannot be enjoying the performance and regularly driving quite sedately.
