It's come down 3ppl in the last week at my local supermarket.

I suspect "Lack of competition" is probably the root cause however.

I bet the cost of Milk and Bread is the same in both cities regardless of supermarket! censored
Not sure it's worth the trip to Liverpool Costco for the 9p/L saving on unleaded wink

don't worry it's the budget coming up with oil prices dropping it'll be an ideal opportunity to screw the motorist for more...

The accompanying forecasts to the last Budget assumed that the duty freeze would be lifted.

To be honest I’d not blame them as the only people benefiting from the last freeze are the retailers.

I bought an EV a year ago, saved about £800 on petrol, £300 on servicing, £180 VED, lost £200 ins and have not had to visit a petrol station.

I kept my car last year and didn't have to pay a load of interest on a loan or lose a load of money in depreciation of a stupid electric car hehe

That's no use here then. This is a thread about petrol prices.

If you only saved yourself £800 on petrol, then you don't really travel anywhere do you?! It kind of reinforces my view that many EV owners WFH, barely go out and pay £xxx per month for a premium car they rarely use.

I bought an EV two years ago. I save about £3k per year in fuel etc.

I've lost £20k in depreciation though (as a result of buying used before prices dropped).

I was going to buy a new Taycan Turbo S but didn’t. Saved £171k.

I think adjusted for inflation it’s below the price per litre when I started, which feels like a win.

If anyone is ever driving up the A12 just north of Colchester you'll pass a Shell site that is regularly empty, and 5 miles up the road you'll pass an Esso site that regularly has queues out of the site onto the slip road. The reason........12-15p a litre cheaper than Shell site.

Prices are a lottery.

I understand what you are saying but it's more to highlight the way we are being ripped off by the Fuel companies.

Would you be ok paying more for Milk, Bread, essentials, etc from the same retailer in the UK just because you live in a different part of the same country.

Can't believe that they can get away with it in this day and age.
