I'd love to tour around Europe in one of these! A great evolutionary design. Looks very pretty but purposeful. Well done Morgan.

I just watched the Jonny Smith video, I'd love one of these. Yes, they're unapologetically retro, but that's part of the appeal. And it looks like they've put real effort into making it drive well, although of course we'll have to wait till the road tests to really find out.

I'm a little surprised it's not more of a PH car. Yes, it's a bit expensive, but it's at least trying to tick as many as the 'drivers car' boxes as possible. It's light, fast enough, compact for threading down a b road.

INEOS and Morgan should club together and design something more suitable for their applications. Isn't it just some plastic and micro switches anyway?
Not that simple, the type approval regulations for the car will include the engine and gearbox as a complete package plus with the amount of cars that Morgan will sell, the costs in designing and getting a new shifter pass type approval would never be worth it.
100%. The Grenadier designer said they looked into type approval for a new shifter it but the cost for a global vehicle would have been ridiculous, adding a “significant” amount to the price of each vehicle for what is a low volume vehicle. Didn’t come close to passing a cost benefit analysis. And that’s Ineos who have made something like 25,000 vehicles, never mind Morgan at 500 per year.

Afternarket solutions for owners who care will be the only way to do it.
I believe only viable option is putting in the gear selector from the Toyota Supra. Quite a plain unit, but it doesn’t scream BMW parts bin as much. I think it would suit the interior.

Apparently some Grenadier owners are doing this.

If only they were. This one seems to be stuck in some weird in-between-land. And those side mirrors are completely ridiculous.

The Plus 4 was joint 7th in EVO's CotY.... I think there's a serious attempt at aiming these cars at the established brands... not just in terms of rarity and "look at me"...but in terms of driving dynamics, outright stats, joy, design, build quality, tech and usability...

You think? A business that doesn't look at any data of its customers?

You think? It looks to me like it’s more retro than anything else. Yes, the mirrors aren’t great and there will always be elements of the design that they had to cut corners on to meet approval, just one of those things.

I think it’s closer to the near hundred year old 4/4 design than it is to anything else, what else could that be but retro?

I think this is a PH car and the bulk of the response is very positive. Comments on the wider web are also extremely positive.

PH has an unusual strain of miserabilist that appear, Eeyore-like, on every news story to spout ste. They’re particularly prevalent on anything British. McLaren’s being made of chocolate, Range Rovers exploding mechanicals (when they’re not being nicked), Jaguar being ‘dead to them’ etc etc. I wouldn’t confuse them with real buyers/enthusiasts, they’re often unable to admit their own garages.

This is a great Morgan and it may even be a great car - good on ‘em!

I’m surprised they didn’t come up with a more elegant design, along the lines of the windscreen mounted Spa mirrors on a Caterham

As well as the type approval aspect, I understand BMW are quite restrictive with whom they sell their engines to, and under what terms - compared to a Ford who see it as a more fundamental part of their business.

Never understand the point of making an automatic shifter look like a manual

Its like, you wanted a shifter, but bought a automatic... but if those only come in a automatic... hm, see also Porsche GT4 RS, looks like a shifter, but its not.

What a breath of fresh air this is. The styling is bang up to date, but being very clearly Morgan at the same time.

I can't think of another hand-built lightweight performance car I want to own for £100k. Terrific!!

Seems a bit cartoonish to me. I would prefer a sorted Plus 8.
Morgans were never meant to be practical for me,and I would live with all of the many imperfections. Would never be a DD in any case but a weekend car for short jaunts on a warm day.
It needs louvres.

You'd have to really want the Morgan heritage (and an ICE) to walk past this at £35k cheaper:

I think in several years down the line this will be held up as a great example of combining heritage and modern lines.

I think it looks absolutely fantastic and think they've done a great job of updating what is still very clearly a Morgan.

Lottery win car for sure.

In the same way you'd have to really want a nice juicy steak to walk past a salad.
