I mean, if anyone was ever cross shopping like that, sure?

I just can't imagine who would put the Morgan and this into the same shopping list. Some might, but surely they're <1%.

Not to mention the fact that Morgan are in reasonable health and will almost certainly be around for servicing and parts for many years. Longbow, on the other hand, barely even exist yet.

From the front might be still tolerable but the rear 😵‍💫 and for that price. I'd rather have a used Plus 8 with the BMW 4.8 there around 30k cheaper, tons of fun and look stunning. Plus the gorgeous V8 burble.

Generally like it as I love Morgans. Yes, the lower front end slab looks odd and the hardtop make it look like a pope-mobile but some nice improvements to bring it up to date but not lose the essence of what makes a Morgan a Morgan.

Been playing around on the configurator as I'm starting to give some thought to one of these.

Some big price tags on some of the options
- £6,600 for the monblock style wheels (a mere £2,400 for the normal 19s)
- £4,200 for the hardtop - or £6,600 if you want the hard top AND soft top
- £3,000 for the switchable sports exhaust
- £3,600 for the trick Sennheiser audio actuators

On the other hand, paint is very reasonable, as is interior trim. the rest of the audio, with the noise cancelling mics, wireless charging and bluetooth is only £300. £3,000 for Nitrons, and £2,400 for a LSD seem in line with and decent aftermarket stuff.

I would normally expect such things as wheels, paint and a roof to be included in the basic price of a car.

They are. These are optional variants...

To walk past a render?

Who really is going to buy an ev as a weekend toy?

How on earth are they even vaguely comparable?

I paid extra for door handles on my Morgans!

I think it's great. Puts distance between their other models. Low weight, focus on touch points, sensible power. All things threads on here are constantly complaining about on bmw's offerings.

Some of the photos I've seen show it looking a little awkward, but it looked good in the Harry's garage and late break videos, do hopefully it looks even better in the flesh?

I can well see that there are loads of 50 and 60 year old guys who would feel ridiculous in a Porsche, Ferrari or even some lotus who this would really appeal to. I hope it's a huge success for Morgan.

I did watch the reveal earlier this week as well as the previews from Harry and Jonny. First and foremost I am grateful that Morgan not only still exists but also appear to be in good health. Their existence is a true enrichment to the automotive landscape that is for its majority characterized by generic and clinical products.
Considering the low production numbers and amount of craft involved base pricing is really good, some options (as BTM mentioned above) do seem to be quite steep though.
As an owner of a German roadster of similar price point this car really appeals to me, maybe age is indeed a factor at late 40s. I see Supersport as a proposition offering a quite different and unique experience, one that is about enjoyment of the moment at a slower pace…

Seems a bit cartoonish to me. I would prefer a sorted Plus 8.
Morgans were never meant to be practical for me, and I would live with all of the many imperfections. Would never be a DD in any case but a weekend car for short jaunts on a warm day.
It needs louvres.
Agree with all of that.

I have an Aero +8 (4.8 V8) for summer days - with louvres! It was my second brand new Morgan purchase and I can confirm that Morgan don't use any form of customer data - you'd think someone spending £160k on brand new cars spec'd at the factory might be on their mailing list.. er, no.

A recent purchase of a 911 has meant the Morgan has been a bit overshadowed!

I like it. smile

Don't care about the lack of manual but the very fact it has a boot and a little more luggage space, is a game changer for me.

Love Morgans but I always chuckle when I see even an early 2000's one with the same door mechanism as my Series 3 Lightweight.

Apart from them both being 2-seater British sports cars?

£145k is pretty punchy with a lot of strong alternatives at this price point:

They only need 200 a year - I think they'll get that.

How much did you have to 'push' the confugurator to get to that figure?

My fairly modest/realistic spec is significantly less, although I accept that when I started talking to them about what would or wouldn't be possible with custom options, maybe add another ~£10k to that.

....which would be 911 GTS (or 911 T with £20k of extras) money.
