Speed camera snaps F1 car

Dike dash triggers cash cow

Nabbed!
Nabbed!
A speed camera captured the high-speed dash of F1 driver Robert Doornbos' Red Bull Racing car across Holland's Afsluitdijk this weekend.

As we reported yesterday, Doornbos drove the length of the straight, 20 mile dike which protects Amsterdam from the sea's incursions.

But a speed camera nabbed him -- and it can't have been a Gatso because we've heard how they don't work above 170mph, and Doornbos' top speed was 201mph. We haven't heard yet whether he'll get a NIP in the post.

". . . which protects Amsterdam from the sea's incursions."

Amsterdam is about an hours drive from the Afsluitdijk . . . the thingy protects a bit more

So who gets the speeding ticket? The RB2 has no license plate, so Doornbos can always say it was Coulthard or Klien with his helmet on. :-)

Do you really expect to talk sense to people who wear wooden shoes?

Perfectly sensible. If the dams break, wood floats.... They will all float home.

For sure. The eye level is too low... It appears to have been taken from a conventional human eye level, not from the high level at which a Gatso is situated, unless they are all on shot poles in Holland...

AFAIK he only did one run. And it was in the opposite direction. Besides we drive on the RIGHT as in good and not left side of the road.

Explains why they have such problems driving properly on German autobahns if they actually do wear these wooden thingies...

Definately fake, he's driving on the left hand side of the road and the same way as the traffic on the opposite side. The video shows him going in the opposite direction of the traffic and on the right hand side of the road.
