Hi all.

This is yet another what car

rolleyes

But please before you run away please give some positive input.

I have a baby due at the end of august and have 3 children at the moment so instead of buying an mpv now we are going to wait untill closer the time to do so.

At the moment we have a 2001 406 hdi 90 bhp saloon of which the kids moan that there is not enough room in the back so want us to get something wider.[Also it's so slow!]

I've owned a couple of 2001 mk2 Mondeos of which didn't get any complaints so may get one of those again or a mk3 as they seem to look a tad bigger with a 1.8 petrol engine.

What i'm asking is any of the other family saloons out there of which come with a 1.8 petrol and 2000 onwards for less then £1250 got more room inside ?

I'm not a fan of picasso/zafira and such like as come august we'll be buying a full size mpv eg Galaxy/Alhambra/Estima etc.

Thank you for your input in advance.

Citroen C5?

Dunno how much room's inside but they are a large car. You can get a V6 cheaply too if you can stomach the fuel costs.

Volvo perhaps and there are the obvious rapid variants..

My 95 is roomy in the rear (oo errr matron!) so I suspect the estate is also... and even the lpt is pretty swift.

E-Class Merc is too and they can be had with 7 seats or so I seem to recall, would be a ballsy purchase at that sort of price. I looked at one a year or so ago and got messed around by the garage in the end but I am sure if you look hard enough one could be found.
