What annoys me are the stty halfrauds aftermarket DRL kits which are pointless. If your car doesnt come with them, then don't fit them.
Tell that to Rover man on the previous page!

Why drive with my headlights on and pay £20 for a set of bulbs every now and then when I can spend £5 on eBay's finest LED lights which cost me much less to run & much less hassle...

I welcome DRLs, purely because of the amount of idiot drivers that don't turn their bloody lights on when there is reduced visability! Once the vehicles around you have their lights on and you don't, then you become invisable. I really can't see a negative point to them, why on earth do people dislike them?
Exactly. We've all see the idiot driving around at night without their lights on. Frankly if it stops people like that being quite so dangerous then I'm all for it.

FWIW I always drive with my dipped beams on in the 205 - It's small, low and dark, so as far as I'm concerned I need all the help I can get!

I think DRL's are a good idea. You can see cars with DRL's a mile off. If every car had DRL's fitted, it would make overtaking a lot safer as you would be able to see if there's anything ahead in the distance.

These two statements are at odds with each other, aren't they? Surely we should be encouraging the retrofitting of Halfords DRLs so that you can better spot a vehicle while overtaking.

I fully intend on fitting some DRLs to my car at some point in the near future. My car may not have come with them, but I'm not going to let myself become invisible in the twinkly sea of new cars. And I'm going to get the brightest ones I can find, because I need to make sure I'm seen first.

Because they look st and tacky? Especially if they are that horrible yellow colour.

They are quite often not even all that bright either, so rather pointless.

Depends. Some seem to fit the Halfrauds DRL's "cos they look cool innit bruv" and not for the safety aspect.

You say you are going to fit the brightest that you can. In that case I agree with you. However, the majority just fit them for the sake of it.

I suspect most hate DRL's out of jealousy anyway.

Sorry, are you talking about the lights, or those who buy them?
