If you start going to an indie then that would also allow you to start tuning the car, which for me is the main selling point of the 7t gen 1.

You'll be surprised how keen other OPCs are for the business. I've tried Dick Lovett Swindon instead of OPC Hatfield and very happy. Extra distance if you book a loan car not an issue at all. From memory i managed to get the major spark plug service done for £1,100. inc vat. This included cost of 111 point inspection and a brake fluid change after some haggling. Cost of the 2 year warranty was circa £2k - you may as well renew for 2 years as it works out slightly cheaper. So total bill of £3k. If you take your own oil (which I don't bother with) even cheaper.
That would certainly be more like what I'd rather pay for sure.

I have a good rappor with the male service manager with my local OPC and he's a kind gentleman, but every time the female calls me it's like she's the boss and what she says goes, no discounts no going the extra mile!!! Clash of personalities or something but I hate talking to her!!!!
From memory, Swindon were the cheapest quote I had for the 111-point check at renewal time on mine and others were prepared to move on price, so it may be worth ringing round - it was mentioned to me when speaking to one OPC that they will wave the fee all together if the check was done with a service as there is a lot of work in common. Personally, I never take the first price mentioned by an OPC having saved at least £600 on a full change of brakes and tyres by asking an OPC for there best price for the work.

Even if you do opt out of the warranty, it would also be worth considering having the check done before the current period comes to it's end, as anything it turns up will be covered - it turned up an issue with leaking diff seals on mine, which would have been several hours labour on its own..
