what is an 'early' 3.4 996?
Discussion
It’s virtually identical to cobalt blue. It was rough as a badgers arse fifteen years ago and the intervening years haven’t been any kinder.
The colour is actually a renault espace colour!
One of a few that went through MCP Motorsports hands back in the day who never did any work to them, just stored them and rode the price rises.

I saw it parked outside Solihull Porsche 6-8 years ago, it's owner had a vinyl graphics company and thus it had some vinyl stickers on it. The colour is actually a renault espace colour!

The paintwork looked very tidy indeed. As for Island Blu looking like Cobalt, no way, Island is a far, far nicer hue than Cobalt.

What you gonna do about centre caps?
I'm just using plain Porsche silver with grey crests which don't look too bad, maybe. It's basically impossible for me to get a perfect match as my wheels have been powder coated and you can't powder coat plastic centre caps.

All these pictures of gold wheels on silver have made my refurb decision easier. Black wheels on silver, didn't like it, the wheels kind of just disappear. I shall be going gold, although I think I will go with Weiss Gold. Won't be for a few weeks yet, but it is booked in.What you gonna do about centre caps?

With that and my suspension refresh, a few quid is going out but that will be the expensive stuff done (I hope). And I did get a bargain on the suspension - Koni Sport shocks with H&R springs, the full kit, brand new but open - £650 instead of at least £1300, from FB Marketplace.

I bought an e30 m3 from MCP Motorsport back in the day. I think it was £8k. Traded it in some years later, at a different dealer, for my 996 as I wanted a car with aircon. The colour is actually a renault espace colour!

Here is the old auction listing for ithttps://www.handh.co.uk/auction/lot/95-2000-porsch...
Looking at this auction, I found this and honestly a bit amusing...
'...It comes with a previous purchase invoice from 2002, when it was bought for £38,250, alongside past listings of the car, invoices for servicing, maintenance, and labour totaling over £32,000...

I’ve got a couple of bits left over from when I had mine, and as I’ve got a new project incoming so could do with the space. It’s brake pad pins, clips and sensors, various trim/undertray clips and an air filter.
I don’t want anything for them. Collection from near Tonbridge, Kent.

Interesting one listed. Is it me or do the shut lines seem off? and the paint match.

Shut lines where? If front PU then I believe these can be adjusted and I think it doesn't look too bad
Obviously toeing eye missing too
Otherwise the ad reads well and it's got some good bits and pieces
Wheels OZ
Momo type S wheel
Console delete
Aero kit
Etc
Does anyone know if these people can do a good rebuild?
