I feel this been up while others have come and gone? Mechanically sounds good. High owners and missing history does not bother me at the right price. Shame its without Amber's. I have reached out so will see. Its not close in location so regretfully money has to be discussed prior to seeing it.

M030 and LSD which is pretty good spec. No sports seats however which it needs at that price really. History looks very good but it is priced high for 105k, I reckon the guy is chancing it.

Putting pre facelift headlights on is trivial and would probably net you a few quid along the way. I sold my non amber halogens for 300 I think when I switched to litronics. Ambers going for about 100 for a set. Think the rears need to be done too though, probably similar situation, along with the side markers for the full set

Tesco club card on the key is not really the look!
I have an opposite viewpoint based on the quantity of work the car has had and the fact that he hasn't been afriad to spend money and has done it all in the right areas. I'd much rather buy a car at 105k miles which had new suspension and a clutch less that 10k ago than a car which had done 70k and had nothing replaced (or not for years). The difference between a 105k car and a 75k car after 22 years is 1364 miles a year, which is bugger all.

For me, at least, it's important to consider how a 20-something year old car has been looked after rather than whether it has done a few more miles. That's how I bought mine - the two previous owners had spent a fortune despite barely using it, so I'm happily enjoying the fruits of their invoices. Mine was on 109,000 when I bought it.
Now reduced to £15,950

Mine is a manual. 1999 car, 3.4, cable throttle. Early car basically.

Relevant info from my certificate highlighted below:

Bugger. Mine’s a 98 3.4 manual. Oh well. Another piece of paper for the history file.

Thanks for the info!
Or not...

I got my CoC through this morning. My NOx number is way below this, at 0.035g/km (!) which should allow it to be ULEZ exempt.

Mine's a '98 manual too...
Have you got a cable throttle? Oh man don't tease me like this!

That grey car on 19's is not good.
Just a quick update - got my bit of paper from Porsche over the weekend. NOx is 0.187 as per the above, not unexpected but still a shame.

Had a bit of a play around with the ULEZ checker and found a few more cars that seemed to pass even though they should be cable throttle cars. Oh well, guess I'll be in the market for a 997 this time next year, although an Alfa junior is tempting me at the moment!

Alright so why is mine so low then?

I had a few emails with another member here and it looked like the figures on his CoC were messed up - the 187 for NOx was actually the HC + NOx value. If you add up your HC and my NOx value (0.035g/km) I bet they come to 187? My HC value is 0.152g/km.

That was me!

In discussions with Porsche GB at the minute. They've been in touch with the factory and have asked for a bit more info (that I can't give them right now as I'm away on holiday for the next couple of weeks) but they think the paperwork might not be right and agreed something weird is going on with the numbers. Keep your fingers crossed. I'll update the thread with more info when I can....

This is my actual printout FYI.

Reading it again it does seem strange that HC is 0.152 and HC + NOx is 0.139....

Seems like some strange German maths. Fingers crossed this gets sorted and I can keep the car come ulez!

Just dropped mine off for a service, a few odds doing to it and having the seats refurbished. Air con is still nice and cold, so looks like that's sorted out properly now smile

My 996 is finally back after 6 weeks!! It turns out my initial diagnosis of crank sensor was incorrect, after further diagnosis it turns out there was a fault with the ECU. The garage managed to source a used ECU and immobiliser and now it lives again!

I like to think no one else has parked nearby as they are embarrassed parking their boring car next to that.

Poor thing

"...and since owning I've had an Aerokit fitted, had the wheels sprayed black and the calipers red at a combined cost of over £6000 but to me its worth it as its one of a kind."

Good way to throw away £6k. Still easy enough to get replacement bumpers and skirts and the mileage is very low. Might be a worthwhile buy for someone who's good with a spanner. IMS done too, although obviously less of a concern with an early car.

Yeah, it's not good. If the owner kept the original bumpers then it would be easy to put right and with the bodykit possibly putting some buyers off it could be a relatively cheap very low miles manual coupe.

That body kit removes around £3K from the value. What on Earth was he thinking?

Standard that would be a good buy. Putting it back to standard or genuine Aero kit, will cost.
