Hmmmm..... Interesting.... I’m moving from a GT4 to a 991.2 GT3 (yeh— I’ve given up playing the allocation v overs game: it’s simply not one I’m likely to win tbh....), but seriously considering whether front-lift is an absolute “necessity”: it adds extra weight and I’ve heard it makes a bit of a “boing” noise/bounce over bumps....!! There is no doubt that cars with lift sell for more than those without, but if the Gen2 GT3 scrapes only as much (and possibly less??) than my outgoing GT4, then I’m happy to live with it, and just have a spare splitter lying around as “back-up”.... (I’ve pretty much perfected the “art” of navigating bumps/ramps in the GT4, so don’t think I’d struggle too much in the new GT3 if it’s the same.....)

Does anyone know whether the 991.2 GT3 has, in fact, lower/higher ground clearance at the front than the GT4....?? I’ve trawled the web, and can’t find any definitive figures.... But I’m not convinced that cars without lift are necessarily doomed to “grounding” at every speed-bump/car park ramp....
I had a GT4 and now have a new GT3 and IME the GT3 will sail over speed bumps where my GT4 would ground..Not on the bump itself but on the road as you come off if that makes sense...

Makes total sense: this was the only point at which my front splitter scraped— when dismounting the bump, rather than when mounting it (why does that come across in a needlessly sexual way...?? Think I’ve had too many G&Ts... wink )

Unlike some, I didn’t really struggle with the GT4 over bumps/ramps etc.... (Especially if taken at an angle if necessary....) Yes, it occasionally scraped— but that’s why I had a cheap (ish) spare in the garage.... (a part that Porsche don’t seem to have priced extortionately high...!!). If the splitter got too mangled, i could simply replace it for a couple of hundred quid (far cheaper than front-lift on the GT3...!!)

If the scraping issue really is no more problematic than that on the GT4, I think I’ll save the cash— and weight— and buy myself a couple of spare splitters should the worst happen.... wink
