What do people think of this one? I’m going to go back for another look / test drive.

Also i’m conscious it’s quite a small market, what would be a good deal price wise? Car is SOR.

With a manual and painted centre console, that would be perfection!

I think the manual aspect is a personal thing. I like mine with PDK and wouldn't swap you for a manual. I agree about the centre console though, it lifts an otherwise too dull interior.

And well out of budget!!

What is the consensus on running outside of warranty? Or are there any decent options outside of opc warranty?

Not bothered about a bit of up keep but a box or engine issue is worrying me a bit. Done a bit of research and not heard many engine issues but the odd pdk box nightmare.

I have had Porsche warranty on mine since the start and would not run without it. I have had my money back easily.

I am surprised the Ipanema wasn't more popular.

The seller has said no problem to put it in for a 111 but my concern is that it needs work to be accepted and could be a dear do...

Then you get the dealer to put it right, or you walk.

Fixed. The issue is there are so few images of some of the rarer colours as they don't come up for sale.

In order for a car sold by a specialist how do you go about getting an approved Porsche warranty? Simply put it in for the 111 inspection?

What is the rate on an annual Porsche warranty or would you be better going to a company like Hartech?

Right now you don’t need s 111 point check....that’s what I was told last week when checking for my wife’s Boxster. Maybe Covid related. Only warranty worth having is a Porsche one....some independent’ s offer there own but will charge you for it if you use them for SOR.

Op , did you go for a look at the car in Warrington?

Its local to me and was thinking about a nosey, even though its a bit out of my budget.

Would you buy one with low miles or one with higher mileage? If you're going to use it all the time a higher mileage would make sense?

Why not put an offer on the lower mileage car. You may get some movement and it should have OPC warranty.

Failing that I'd take the higher miles and enjoy driving it.

If you want a PDK GTS why not the following all on AT:

2011 GTS £55k GT Silver with 40k miles at Cameron Sports Cars.

2011 GTS £47k Blue with 56k miles at Ashgoods.

2010 C2S £44k Silver with 34k miles at Harbour Cars.

That's what I did and have enjoyed every minute. Mine has done 70k now and drives like new.

They are never going to be priceless classics, but they will always be one of the best (if not THE best) 911s to date, so you may as well buy one to use.

Hi all good to see the thread still going!

So went back to see the red car and liked it and having a closer look round it - it was still in amazing condition etc.

However, I then started to research more as I was going to make a serious offer for (research went into overdrive!!) and have had a real wobble due to potential PDK gearbox issues which whilst rare seem to be unfixable without a new gearbox at near to £10k fitted.

I note a couple of people on this thread have suggested it’s a brave move running one outside warranty.

The independent selling the red car said they would put it on for a 111 (at my expense) although they warned that its unlikely to be as simple as pay for the 111 plus the 2 year warranty cost. The opc will be very demanding and it will likely end up being £3-4+ k to get it through and warranties which is a lot in terms of the car value.

They seem genuine and knowledgeable so I don’t doubt their experience on this.

All a bit confusing just not sure I want to take the risk as a £10k bill would be horrific
