Down for my OPCs last 4RS next year hopefully in Venadium Grey if its introduced.
Why, of course you are.....biglaugh

Like most on here, we know that will never happen for 'reasons beyond your control'....

Like say the 3 x 992 GT3s, the 992 touring and most likely a 992GT3RS that your OPC offered you but you had to decline...whistle
You really are a prize plum popping up like a bad smell again trying to ruin this thread.

You need serious help...... as your fantasy RS Spyder purchase thread proves. rofl
Your lack of self-awareness on any porsche thread and how you are viewed is astonishing; the fact that nobody responds to your posts should be a giveaway.

I asked about any owners could advise about how tricky the roof was to remove and replace on a RS spyder as I was offered one.

There is no challenge to be offered a new rs spyder; there are quite a few unregistred ones available at list or less, and early used '24 cars are available for cobsiderably under list.

The electric roof on my 675LT works at upto 26mph with a button, so whilst it was nice being called out of the blue and being offered the shark blue weissach rs spider at well below list from the dealer I have bought 2 x 992 from in the last 18 months, it's not for us as the roof seems a ballache; at no point did I say i was purchasing it, and there is only one belter on these forums that posts about ordered cars that never, ever appear.

I am sure you shall post up pics of the GT4RS when it arrives...or not..tbf, nobody would be interested either way. wink

£75k retail must mean £65 trade even at an Indy.

If the cost of an engine rebuild is as has been said £35k then accepting that it might never happen, still that’s close to the level where it would write the car off.

Isn’t there a danger that these will enter a sort of death spiral like early 997s where people are not prepared to take the risk, when you can get a Cayman GT4 for similar money?

For a lot of people who just want a GT style car but aren’t track addicts it’s surely going to put them off a 997.1 GT3 and those that are will wait to be able to afford a .2?
Why are engine rebuilds on the GT3 so expensive, I seem to recall 997 engine rebuilds were up to £10k? Is it the costs of the GT3 engine parts being so much higher than a 997 or something?

I spoke to a chap who's 991.2 gt3 engine went pop (oil pump issue, from memory) and Porsche said £101K for a new engine (covered under warranty), but the delivery could be a while, so he opted for a rebuild at Guildford(?) OPC and it came to over £57K.

Presume, due to oil starvation a fair few bits needed replacing, but I am not going to forget to renew my warranty this month!!!

(I’m assuming £35k rebuild is an Indy cost)
