How would you spec your 992 GTS?
Discussion
If you are going to spec a Targa 4 GTS, i would 100% go with the CCBDs option, the steels do the Job OK, but if you are going to press on a bit its nice to have the stopping power of the CCBDs the Targa is a heavy car, also they are now the 10 Pots as stock from the Turbo S and Tycan, epic stopping performance.

This is the exact one I use but you can probably buy cheaper brand https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/203483286715?chn=ps&...

I have a 992 PDK Targa 4GTS on order but not driven one yet. I did just over 35k miles (including a few track days) in 2 x 991.2 Targa 4GTS, yes whist it feels a sorted car it does feel heavy was glad i put CCBDs on both. Cheib said:

Defo aerokit. 1st box ticked.
I didn't know anyone else through that. I'm like...it's a GTS - it should be a bit chavvy. If you don't want that, get a base model or an S. The whole point of the GTS spec (and it is a spec), is for it to be a little more boy-racer.Really lifts the car into another level.
In years to come people will actively look for a aerokit equipped car i think.
The rest of the spec is for you to decide. I get thoroughly confused with the racetec options on the gts and what it gives you!
Centre locks are a unique feature to the gts so get those as well.
997 GTS with Aerokit seem to hang around if anything (911 Virgin had one for quite a while recently)….and you don’t see people going mad for the ducktail on the 991.1 GTS either.
I’d also agree with what was said above about speccing a GTS…it’s a GTS so people want all the GTS specifics including interior, the interior is a big part of what differentiates a GTS from a Carrera/S. Cars without the expensive GTS interior box ticked don’t sell as quickly….that applies to 997 GTS, and both 991 GTS’s. Doubt 992 will be any different. I
I’m waiting for the option of lightweight glass and rear seat delete.
My spec includes:
Gts interior
Gts pasm
Rear seat delete
Light weight glass
Carbon roof
Manual
Rear wheel steering
Then all the other non driving specific nice stuff
Only thing is. That comes to 135k and that’s not too far off the 991.2ht3

Sounds like a nice spec. A GTS is less hardcore than a GT3 and can realistically be used as a daily (will I never use the rear seats?). The other thing is actually getting a GT3 is nearly impossible. It’s not just a matter of ordering one. My spec includes:

My choice is between a manual 991.2gt3 or a new 992 gts.
Benefits of the gts is that you can use a roof rack so I could use it when biking and skiing with a proper roof rack opposed to my seasucker on my gt3.
I still think 991.2gt3s are overpriced and will come down again next year by 10k but non of them are particularly well specced so I will probably prefer the gts

Defo no Aerokit for me. IMO the Aero-kit on a non GT3/2 is a bit too 'try-hard'.I'm currently looking at used 991.2 GTS's at the moment, but having wandered into the configurator I'm tempted to order new.
How I'd do it:
- Python Green (or Lava Orange)
- RS Spyder Design Wheels
- GTS interior package
- Electric slide/tilt glass sunroof
- Electric folding exterior mirrors
- Brake Calipers painted in Black (high-gloss)
- Automatically dimming interior and exterior mirrors with integrated rain sensor
- Rear wiper
- ParkAssist (front and rear) including reversing camera
- Light design package
- Extended Interior Package in matt carbon (auto selected with Interior GTS package)
- BOSE

Disagree with airokit being the option that people want….a lot of people like the GTS because it doesn’t have the spoiler and is a bit more stealth. Anything higher up the performance ladder comes with a spoiler (GT3 Touring apart)….look how popular the Touring is to tell you how much people like performance/pedigree without the spoiler.

It's interesting regarding the Aerokit - four votes for it, three votes against it in this thread so far. 50/50. Personally I love the 991.2 GT3 wing. I love the look of the whole car. The touring is also lovely. I'd happily have either. Really not sure on the 992 GT3 wing, and would almost certainly purchase a touring if I was ever given the opportunity to do so.997 GTS with Aerokit seem to hang around if anything (911 Virgin had one for quite a while recently)….and you don’t see people going mad for the ducktail on the 991.1 GTS either.

But there's something about the wing on the 992 Aerokit that I really like. I saw a car in Norwich OPC the other day and it worked well. I feel it is less of a statement than the 997 GTS Aerokit wing and considerably more than the small wing on the 991 (could you even spec a 991.2 with Aerokit?).
I wonder if there is perhaps a correlation between age and whether you like it (not that I am suggesting you are at all old Cheib); I am just curious. it is perhaps slightly try hard, but I would imagine any 992 GTS purchaser (or certainly many of them) would be buying a 992 GT3 if there was a chance of owning one. As we all know they are rather impossible to get hold of.
I think you may be right on the GTS interior package though...

Why does the GTS rear end have the registration plate higher up? It’s not like the gt3 where it’s in the way of the exhausts.
It’s almost as if they employed the man responsible for the rear of the Discovery 5 after JLR sacked him!
The clean line on the base spec 992 is more pleasing to the eye.

I’m currently deciding whether to replace my 992 C2S with a GTS and this single thing (especially if you imagine a yellow plate in place…) is steering me towards another C2S

That just leaves waiting for the light weight glass.

It’s a shame you can’t spec the buckets on anything below a GTS. I’m currently deciding whether to replace my 992 C2S with a GTS and this single thing (especially if you imagine a yellow plate in place…) is steering me towards another C2S

Looking nice. Python green is a great colour. It's lovely in fact. As is Lava orange. Both fairly out there colours in terms of getting noticed on the road...I'm currently looking at used 991.2 GTS's at the moment, but having wandered into the configurator I'm tempted to order new.
