I’ve had mine since the end of February (couldn’t wait for the 1st March!) and am over the moon with it, it needs a good clean at the minute after a long weekend away but I’ve got a run out with a few friends tomorrow so that’ll have to wait.

Spec wise I think I got my choices spot on for me - I would like to try one without the lightweight glass to see if it does make a difference noise wise though!
very nice,best colour too

This thread has been very quiet for a couple of weeks. Wonder has anyone had a recent allocation for a GTS please?
I did last week. Summer delivery but I think I'm going to reject it. 2+ price increases, I am done with this BS. Looking at nearly 10k over from when I originally ordered

That’s very annoying given the price rise is so recent etc.

Picked mine up last week, drove it for 20 mins before dropping it off for PPF. Hopefully will be ready before the weekend.
Luckily got in at the last minute on a cancelled order, a second price rise would have been hard to stomach.

If it did then it’ll be in the port now…..
Mm, the MyPorsche tracker still shows stage 3 and thought I’m supposed to get production photos at some point…
Mine also does, but the dealers advised it’s built and at the port….. although there are major backlog issues at the port
Mines also at the port for the past week. I reckon it’ll be a few weeks yet.

Mine is at Phase 3 for quite a few weeks - delivery estimated end of Jun. Re the PEC I still have not had any details, when do they come through?

My PEC invite came months ago when I first placed my order (not the official order, but the point I gave them my deposit)… you should get an email maybe it’s in your spam? Maybe check with your OPC… I queried why I got it so early this time around (for my C2S I was invited after I collected the car) and they said they want you to experience it before you lock your spec in case the day influences what you want to order.

That said, I’ve decided to schedule mine for July when the weather is likely to be a bit better.

My dealer called me saying I can finalise specs now for a September delivery. Meanwhile price, with specs, went from 126 to 138k
20 months waiting and 12k price increase make me think that I may well keep my 991 4s manual and cancel the order..
Need to decide by tmrw

That's tough. I could have been there if mine hadn't have come through for Jun delivery. Not sure what I'd have done. These are emotional and illogical purchases and whichever way you look at it not the best use of cash. However, if you're like me and it's your first Porsche (and I consider only a 911 as being really worth putting myself out for) then I think I'd probably stick with it only on the basis of getting a .2, although I am not sure it will be revolutionary, more a little cosmetic, digital and EU speed and noise compliant.

Friend of mine got his GTS Targa two weeks ago, he went from a 4S Targa.
He doesn't actually like it anywhere near as much and doesn't really know what to do right now. He is absolutely gutted.

He goes back and forth to London in it 3 days a week down the M4, 80 miles each way, and finds the new one too firm and too noisy.

I just don't think it suites how he uses his car.

The review of the green manual car makes it sound as bad as a 992 gt3 in terms of ride quality! Is it really that bad on our poor uk roads?

properly yes i would say,
its ok on the smoothest roads but for the majority of roads it needs another setting below comfort and softer spring rates
and the tyre roar looked at

It all depends on what you are used to. Tyre pressures can make a huge difference.

I’ve been running mine with the tyre pressures set to comfort, made a big difference over the standard setting that it was delivered on.
I recently did a trip to Oxford from Newcastle and whilst noisier than our daily Golf, the better half and myself could still listen to some tunes and hold a conversation so we, personally, don’t find it uncomfortable and definitely no nosier on a run than my 991.1S.
For reference mines a 2GTS coupe, PDK with the lightweight glass and RAS.
I also recently had a run out with 3 other different era 911s around North Yorkshire and definitely didn’t find it too frantic or skittish, in fact out of the 4 cars mine was the only one that didn’t bottom out over a particular undulating piece of road - if that says anything about the set up!

For my use and needs it’s spot on.

I drive a 4 gts recently and ride wasn’t that bad .Can you delete the -10mm ? You can always get a regular 992 if ride is a primary concern .

Tricky dilemma, but for what it’s worth, I had a C4 GTS coupe for about a year and absolutely loved it.

There isn’t a single commodity which I buy that hasn’t gone up in price over the last 18 months, whether it’s eggs or cars. The only upside for you is that depending on your proposed period of ownership, a price rise will work in your favour as the price you sell it for down the line will also be higher…maybe not high enough to compensate for the price rise you’re now exposed to, but still higher.

I ordered a Carrera T in February, my build slot is September, and the price of the car I want is now over £10k more than when I initially configured it…

Bit of a thread resurrection.

I've had my GTS for 8 months now, and had the opportunity to spend last weekend driving around the best Wales has to offer with some friends. Cars ranged from 2x992 GTS (1 manual, 1 PDK), 991.2 GT3, F-Type R and Lotus Exige. Not only was it a fantastic weekend with some amazing roads and experiences, it really lit up the GTS experience for me.

I'll admit it took me a while to gel with the car - it's my first 911 - but this weekend it just worked. At 7/10ths and above it's alive and nothing could get near it. It inspires confidence, the ride is firm but in no way skittish and you can push it beyond where you'd expect the limit to be.

And then I trundled back home down the motorway for an hour cruising in comfort.

For me it's the car that does everything and like Trufit said 'it's spot on'.
