Unfortunately, yes, I can feel the whole scratch with my fingernail. It is white underneath so I take it that would be the primer? The local Chips Away team very kindly said they would pop around on Monday afternoon, take a look, and provide a no-obligation quotation for me. Whether I use them or not, I should be able to get a better idea of where to go from here.

I appreciate all your comments and advice. You’ll all empathise with this scenario, I’m sure.

Has anyone added an Akrapovic exhaust as yet? I’m at 3,000 miles now and whilst I don’t want it to be ridiculous, I feel like my GTS could do with a little more sound and am considering the slip on Akrapovic exhaust?

would be easier and more cost effective to add a bit of soundproofing inside, then you will be able to hear the porsche sports exhaust

Took the youngest to school this morning in the GTS and parked in what I believed to be the end space on the street outside, specifically to avoid having cars rammed up to it front & back. I was sat in the car when a woman tried parking her fiesta in front of me. I beeped at her and she got out and I said I didn't believe it to be a parking space as the size was very small (3.5m long instead of the 5.4m long one I was in). She wasn't having any of it, got back into her car and proceeded to reverse into me, chipping the front splitter in the process.

I asked for her details as showed the damage, and her response was 'thats nothing, and why are you being like this', to which I explained I'd its a 4 month old car, worth maybe 150k, and that I'd literally just told her that the space (if it is a parking space) wasn't big enough, but she just continued instead of literally driving another 100 metres up to road to park.

google map of space/s below (I was parked where the white car is shown). The space I was in measures 5.4m long. The space to the front is 3.5m long;

the damage is very light, see image below, however local OPC is quoting circa £375+fitting+VAT for the works doing;

I then took the kid to school and came out to find a large 4x4 parked in the same area completely blocking me in. The guy was just arriving (late) with his kid and I asked him to move the car so I could get out, and pointed out it wasn't (IMO) a space and he was parked across the pavement at an angle, also halfway across the road. I was then told 'its the school run, so its how it is'. What f@cking hope do we have with idiots like this in the world.

The kids only been at the school for a couple of weeks as moving close by, and I've only taken her twice and I've now fallen out with 2 people already. Excellent.

Best reason to put kids in a breakfast club on the days you want to drop them off in the GTS….

If only it were that simple. The eldest had to be dropped off at swimming at 6am, and the middle one slept in so needed dropping off by the wife as would have missed the bus, so she took the Etron, which left me no other option.

The money isn't the issue, and I get that a lot of people will think I'm being a dick for threatening to bill her maybe £650 for repairing the issue when its such a minor one, but I just don't get peoples logic thinking they can do this st without reprecussions.

That’s a shame, but I wouldn’t stand for this myself. School runs are a nightmare and it’s always a free for all. Hope you get it sorted.

She hit your car, why should you need to foot the bill. That's what insurance is for.

Exactly why I wouldn't have a really nice car as a daily driver, it's a shame but most road users don't give a fk about nice stuff........you have my sympathy........rage

Looks like a valid parking space, but clearly a cut down one as the pavement cuts in at an angle. Would be okay for a small city car, Kia Picanto / Smart car, etc, to fit in but anything bigger will struggle.

Regardless of that fact, as she's driven into you whilst you're parked she's at fault and should pay to repair. Sounds like this is a case of someone not holding a great deal of value in their car, versus you and your pride and joy. Unfortunately, it happens all the time.

I also don't understand the 'it's school drop-off so it's ok' mentality. If anything parking irresponsibly or dangerously when there are children going in/out of school is a sad indictment of our growingly selfish society.

I did a Road-Trip to Germany with a friend and his 718 GT4 this weekend. We drove to Stuttgart via Nurburgring and did the Porsche Museum at Zuffenhausen on Saturday and then the Mercedes Museum on Sunday. Got back early hours of this morning and covered circa 1500 miles in total. My car was run in before we went as per the guidance and so I opened it up on the Autobahn, hit 172mph with ease before I had to lift off due to cars ahead. Car is a weapon and we had some fun around the twisties too. Didn't get many opportunities on the Autobahn because it was quite busy on the weekend. Here are some pics you might like:
