992 allocations to the dealers

On top of the initial 5k deposit I think some dealers will ask for 10% of the value of your car’s order at the time you get an allocation. So an additional 7K for a 120K car.
My OPC requested £5k and wouldn’t accept more than £10k. That is for 911 C2S … not sure about special GT models with letters of intent.WG said:
The initial deposit is refundable if you cancel your order. When you finalise your spec - lock down - the deposit is increased to 10% ofprice and becomes non refundable.
I’ve only paid the 5k and I’ve not been asked for any further payment and my order is passed lockdown date and starts build shortly? WG said:
Well, you are lucky then. Every new Porsche I have bought since the mid 90’s - and there have been more than a few! - have followed the same process as I outlined above.
This is my second Porsche and it was the same process both times. Initial deposit then no other payment until arranging delivery! What’s everyone else’s experience with the above process wonder if it’s dependant on individual OPC processes?

thats not been the case on the 3 Porsche Cars ive ordered and owned, all different dealers, but only ever the £5k deposit, nothing more until delivery.Anyone asking for more, I'd change your dealer.
Well I have been using same dealer for nearly 30 years so not about to change now. Anyway what’s the big deal? With current interest rates you get bugger all on savings and you have to pay the full amount within a couple of months anyway - time between lock down and deliveryhas not been more than about a couple of months in my experience .

if youve been using the same dealer for 30 years, why dont they have enough trust in you to not ask for more money (that Porsche GB does not need for an order at that stage) at that stage?Davidkn said:

I am happy with the relationship with the dealer which is all that matters to me! Others are clearly having different arrangements that they are also happy with! All is good!MK911 said:
My car has now moved from build code V200 to V250 with completion date of 9th of Sep.
Hopefully this means there will be no further delays! Original completion was 8th of Jul.
Is V250 confirming start of build ? Is it not V260 which is entry into body shop or is that that the assembly of drivetrain to the completed painted shell ?Hopefully this means there will be no further delays! Original completion was 8th of Jul.
How long is it normally between V250 until V300 vehicle completion and when do you get photos available on the app?
Just trying to understand the process here ?
