911 Carrera S (992) availability
Discussion
My car has arrived at dealers, 1 year after ordering and now the problem is with insurance!
I had it all sorted with my insurer Aviva and upon calling to take out the policy, they now won’t insure the car as it’s above £100k. (I’ve asked to pull the tapes as I went through everything with a fine tooth comb!)
So who are peeps using?

NFU are usually ok, but not sure if you have to reside within one of their office postcodes. Worth a call. They’ll probably ask you to activate the standard fit tracker.I had it all sorted with my insurer Aviva and upon calling to take out the policy, they now won’t insure the car as it’s above £100k. Doing the same myself at present as C4S arriving shortly with dealer. Used the Compare+ tool on money supermarket which threw up Admiral at £x. Tried Direct Line select and they were £x + a bit. Rang Lockton (PCGB) and they were almost £2x. Will try NFU too.
Wouldn’t your current car insurance firm give you a better rate, given your driving history?Pivo said:

LV for me, but as mentioned above, insisted on a tracker.
I went with LV for my 718 GTS. Changed to SAGA when I saw the get out clause in red writing that the car wouldn’t be insured or words to that effect if the tracker was found to not be working. bl0498 said:
Every single quote I have had so far insists on use of an approved tracker..
Into my third year of my 992 CS. No tracker needed for the first two years, then out of the blue my insurer insisted on a tracker so had to get it activated. Did an online go compare or similar and every quote requested a tracker.Seven8Seven said:

"Porsche Vehicle Tracking System (PVTS) - Note: To use the PVTS, you need to purchase the Car Security Package from the Porsche Connect Store. For further information on follow-on costs, please visit www.porsche.com/connect or consult your Porsche Centre".
Does this not come as standard.

Yes - Admiral Multicar is who I am with and they have said no tracker is actually required for my new C2S.
Mind you the Porsche App shows you where the car is at all times. Currently I can see that our Cayenne is at the local train station car park, as my wife went to the office. So if somebody stole the car now it would still be tracked and we or an insurance company could see where it was going.
