This is a good review on how the ST drives. It’s nothing like the Sports Classic or a GT3, Sports Classic which is very much a GT cruiser type car.
So it's nothing like the GT3 to drive, despite from that article ' The car uses the same basic chassis structure as the GT3, down to the double-wishbone front suspension architecture'

We are talking incremental differences to what is ostensibly the same car.

I agree with this. The SC is waaay less numbers (86 UK cars?) than the Speedster for example which has started to increase in value again now. The SCs have dipped like most models as finance is a considerable factor at this price point however there is also some uncertainty due to an over-supply of SCs currently in the market. I suspect these are making way for an S/T. Once all the S/Ts are delivered (with the requisite number flipped), I can see the SCs increasing in value
speedster hasnt increased in price from what i see. theyve always been around the 300k mark. dont worry those will drop when the new one arrives in next year or two.

I know Porsche marketed the SC as being special because it was a "2wd manual Turbo" and thus had a connection to a GT2 I guess or the pre 993 Turbo's. However....there are an absolutely st load of 2wd manual 991.2 and 991.2 Carrera/S/GTS's....which all happen to be manual 2wd Turbo cars.

I know it's got more power than all of those but it really is clutching at straws to say the SC has a special/unique drivetrain.

I purchased mine in 2021 for 240k (from OPC). Equivalent spec is closer to 300k nowadays. They have increased...

Same can be said about the 997 SC as that's just the C2S engine with the power kit fitted but that doesn't seem to hamper their value.

The special edition turbo you are referring to is the 50th year edition.
It is a limited edition car with some tricky bits on it.
But it is PDK and four wheel drive.
And will be priced at over 200K
Still worth having though a bit like the 40th year edition turbo S done in the three colours.

you must be in a very elite club of people who bought a car in 2021 when prices were going crazy and its still worth more now than then!

its not a special edition.

it will be lauched soon enough, then lets see what happens to sport classic prices.

I am surprised they spoke to you at all after the abuse you have given your car by driving it,instead of bhing and moaning on here.smile

Hunter 66, you can not call the 992 Sports Classic Ugly, it is the best looking 911 they have made in the last twenty years! Inside and out.
It's funny how certain people imply they get offered all these cars with a mad discount, when I ask there seems little movement.
I think there are a few people on here with alternative motives.?!?

The SC is a bulbous parody of a car, an automotive Liberace's handbag...cynically designed with standard parts, and packaged to appeal to those wearing boat shoes with no socks....just saying.

I actually quite like how it looks - at least in terms of how modern 911s look in general. I don't really think any of them after the 997 generation are traditionally pretty, but as a GT/cruiser car, I don't find it too bad .... wheel size on all of them is ridiculous imo

True , sadly like driving not fretting over value and driving is the best way to reduce the value and not care

I mentioned 2021, not 21/22. Late 2021/start of 2022 saw the start of the crazy boom in overs for all Porsches. The 1 2021 example you posted was a delivery mileage, heritage 'launch' spec car. The Heritage spec'ed cars will always command huge premium and maybe also why the non-PTS launch spec SC seems to have a much higher asking price. Mine was an 800 mile Guards Red car for 240k which be asking 290k nowadays

Pretty sure 99.999% of people wouldn’t have a clue what PTS meant.
