I’ve now got the notification on the ‘My Porsche’ app, doesn’t say stop driving the car, btw..
My dealer hasn’t called me yet, be interesting to see if he bothers.
Yep.. i said in one of the other threads…My dealer hasn’t called me yet, be interesting to see if he bothers.

The notifications that UK customers are getting are not Stop Drives… tone is much milder, than US, probably due to litigation culture.
I haven’t received any notice yet for my car, but mine is a July/Aug 24 build so I understand unlikely to have received this part. Will see. Edited by TDT on Wednesday 30th October 09:10

Because they have to create extra capacity to make replacement bolts for the affected cars. 4x per car. This will take time.
They also need to have parts for new cars that they are currently selling and will prioritise over existing cars in the wild already bought and paid for.
And as said OPC are already stacked and probably claim to not have loaner cars… although I’m sure there’s at least a couple hundred taycan parked up somewhere gathering dust.
I don't have any experience of machining non-ferrous materials, but I can only assume the billets for the CL's are made from material that's by no means as prolific as something like EN19 or 24. So that's a lead in, for a start. Most decent firms (and Porsche is not likely to compromise QC here) with CNC machines are not sat around, drinking tea and playing darts, but rather have a decent forward order book to keep the £10'sM/€10'sM of machinery busy and productive. In theory, the CAD/CAM can ease in the setup, but even then, there's going to potentially be workholding and tooling required. Then there's the post machining processes to stack on top of all that. They also need to have parts for new cars that they are currently selling and will prioritise over existing cars in the wild already bought and paid for.

Odd that UK not issuing stop driving instruction - seems inconsistent with all other markets including Germany.

Well that one isn't just a replacement of the centre lock bolt. Any damage to the hub splines or interlock will be rather more complicated ... if this could be claimed to be damage after the event of the stop drive advice, who will pay ?
As for driving, in the USA Porsche are stating that the cars affected should not be driven under any circumstances ... and cars are being collected to prevent this.
Reading really need to get a handle on this ...

The recall popped up on the My Porsche app this morning so called my OPC to get it booked in. Dec 23 992 turbo S.
While they are aware of the issue, so far they have no details of what is required to sort it in terms of inspection and replacement parts.
Was promised a call back when they have more details. Was told not to drive it too!

Just had the callback. 1,250 UK cars affected, my OPC has 54 of them. Too many loaners needed for them to be Porsches hence the Enterprise arrangement. Parts due February 2025. They will send transport for the car when the parts are in stock. So stick it to the back of your garage ... it will be interesting to see what effect this now has on Porsche Approved and SOR sales numbers ... giving an idea of the proportion of cars affected.
Will there be a vin number checker for prospective purchasers running up to the availability of the replacement parts ?
(Bingo !!)

An indication of GT3 numbers registered by year from How Many Left ....
