Yesterdays update - hopefully all done by end of January. Parts being issued on a chassis by chassis basis not as job lots to OPC's....

That’s great news!
Anyone heard anything regarding compensation yet?

My dealer says we’re still looking at January. Not impressed, seeing as quite a few people have now had their cars fixed. Reading between the lines, I get the impression that those with cars on finance are taking priority.

An update on my GTS.

It was collected at home via covered transport today at 10am, repaired and delivered back to us at 2pm! The loan Macan was then taken back on the transporter.
My OPC is 1 hour away so they must have taken it straight in and fixed it while the transport waited. It also had the full health check done in this time as well.
I'm really impressed with the turn around. Well done Bristol - especially Antony who was excellent.

No news on any compensation yet but we'll see if anything comes of that this week. My car was bought outright, no finance, so we'll see if that makes a difference.

I have to say its nice to be back in the 911 compared to the Macan - what a difference!

I have a 911 - but with normal wheel fixings. I'm struggling to see the benefit of centre lock wheels - I realise that there is no choice with certain models.

As an owner of a centre lock car I basically agree.

I believe one justification Is it allows larger ( carbon ) brake disks.

They also look nice.

They are also a pain in the ass and most tyre dealers won't touch them.

I have £500 of kit to remove them which I would prefer not to !

I have an offer of compo from my dealer which is low. They are a bit apologetic but say it is driven by the guidelines supplied from GB and I need to make my case with them for more. Watch this space.

The GT4 has the same brakes as the GT3 ... the GT4 has five stud whilst the GT3 has centre lock wheels ...so where is the justification ? McLaren use five stud wheels ...

It's just a gimmick IMHO. Nothing to do with CCB's which fit on many many cars without CL's.

The whole thing is pathetic in the way it’s being handled. The dealer says they ‘raise a case’. GB says talk to the dealer, even though they’re the one who ultimately make the decision and are liable. Wastes everyone’s time and creates bad will (as we see here and on other fora). Porsche screwed up (rather, their supply chain). That screw up is largely covered by their own product liability insurance. GB needs to just pay a sensible per week tariff and move on. Sadly, they know the price of everything and the value of nothing.

If they have insurance it's an expensive business to claim and who will manage the range of "hurts" and "damages" ? And the add-on cost ?

Far better for them to offer some level of priority access to new product ... enthusiasts will love it / fair exchange ... and those out only for the money may not have been future customers, seeing little or no value in any priority access ... ???

I’m waiting to see what Porsche offer, but if I’m being honest, this whole debacle has completely put me off the brand. This was a car that I aspired to owning, saved for years to get into, had posters of in my room back in the 80’s, but the reality of owning one is another story.

I've got x2 deposits down on future models but will be asking for them back and the rest if they don't deal with this properly. Really appalling so far, terrible communication from the dealer and especially GB. They (GB) seem to have a team of bots who say please call your dealer or I'll ask them to call you and of course they don't.

Worst customer service ever from a manufacturer?

You should know what you're getting from Lotus i.e crap service. Porsche should be delivering so much more with their premium prices and brand.

I am with OPC Swindon and finally got a call yesterday with a date - Thurs 2nd Jan to collect my Turbo S Cab - in a covered trailer, return will be Mon 6th Jan. No discussion of compensation until it is back on the road. I have some sympathy with my OPC, the service manager is trying to look after clients but has feck all information coming out of Porsche Reading, the real culprits in a direct line back to the factory. I think the second letter from Porsche UK early Dec which was almost identical to first on 30th Oct sealed the deal for me, they couldn't give a f**k. I won't sell the car, I like it too much, but it's for sure my last Porsche.

Or a sum to send on accessories of your choice ... with an enhancement if on your next new car ??

I can't believe how dumb Porsche are being ... letting this discontent fester when there could be a resigned acceptance that stuff happens and at least Porsche are being honest ... ??

Maybe they just don't have the people skills or the customer relationships to deal with it ? If that were so, this really would be serious for them IMHO.

As I’ve previously posted my Turbo S was fixed a couple of weeks ago. The latest update from my OPC is that Porsche have issued dealers with a matrix of goodwill payments, depending on type of replacement vehicle provided, time to fix and whether it was financed. So if you got a nice new 911 the compensation is 50% of what you would be offered for (say) a loaner Macan or a rental car. Basically if you were one of those then the tariff they are offering is £1,000 per month yours was off the road until fixed. Personally I feel that is light to cover depreciation, tax and insurance, without considering “loss of use”.

Technology from the WEC cars filters down to the road cars; all part of their philosophy (and why I choose Porsche over other brands). Am probably in the minority saying this though!

Two guys came out from Porsche Solihull and completed the necessary work. Took all of 40 minutes!!

Very happy I can now use my car over the festive period smile
