Hi, has anyone fitted a lightweight flywheel to their Cayman R ? I would be interested to hear their thoughts, the pro’s and cons whether it enhanced the car or ruined it ? Would you recommend this modification or advise against it ? TIA and Merry Christmas !
I have a lw flywheel on my CR. Can only compare to my old 987.2S as the car came to me with the mods. All I can say is it makes a huge difference to the driving experience in terms of throttle response, in gear acceleration seems more urgent too and engine braking more noticeable. Car journalists report it gives the effect of more power! Little bit of chatter on idle but other than that no negatives at all. If going to replace the clutch and flywheel I'd 100% go down that route!
Like buses two manual ones turn up at once

This is the one I would go for ..read the add last night seems it was retailed via Ashhgoods some 3yrs ago .Question regarding servicing and service history. Coming up for the 12yr service. Car is very low mileage with fully documented OPC and specialist history. Owning my own garage i can carry this out myself, stamp the book and back it up with invoices. Only concern is would this harm the future value and saleability? I know it's not a high value car compared to GT's etc but it is still a rare Porsche model.
Appreciate any comments/thoughts

Some people are all about OPC history, some want a car that's been well maintained. Some confuse the two. I'd happily buy a car where there is evidence it has been looked after and well maintained. At the age these cars are now, my own view is that OPC history is less important than ever. My OPC sent me a copy of the 12 year service items (turns out most of the extra cost is for "checks") so you could always print one of them off and mark what was done.
