718 GTS Launch
Discussion
I'll be ordering a Cayman GTS now that it's released, for delivery next summer.
It comes to £72,000 for me: I'll basically have it as the press cars are, with carmine red, interior package, PDK, LED running lights and so on.
I know everyone will say it's "expensive for a four pot", but I think it's absolutely stunning, and for me the main draw of the GTS is the interior pack, which I think is beautiful (though I'll replace the alcantara steering wheel with the carbon one, as I've heard comments about wear on alcantara steering wheels).
It'll be my first Porsche, and I hope it keeps my 'car lust' at bay for a good few years. Had an Audi that I got bored of in about 6 months, now have a Golf GTI that is very good but a bit dull...

There are no real worries with wear on the alcantara, and it feels great!

Don't be too hasty - unless you are planning on doing 20k a year and not looking after the wheel, you will be fine. My 981GTS had the alcantara (and it was lovely in the hands) - I was the second owner and with 10k miles on the click, every bit of alcantara looked like brand new.In short - don't 'do without' on the off chance it's going to look a bit worn (with neglect - plenty of tips for keeping it looking nice...none of which I needed to follow) in 20k miles.

Implication is tha the exhaust is bespoke for the GTS. No 'option' - just the 'GTS exhaust' as standard.
I think you are probably right, I noticed the press release says "Standard fit sports exhaust".Just no mention on configurator.
Engine still sounds rubbish on the configurator, guess there is only so much an exhaust can do!

If you look on the configurator I think I can spot the sports exhaust button.Just no mention on configurator.

At last !! But 365 BHP lower than I was to.d both by OPC and Porsche at Frankfurt motor show. Still, plenty fast enough I think! Can't wait to get speccing at OPC !
Ditto - had heard 375 with the next GT4 being 400. However, I was at the launch of the Panamera Sport Turismo on Monday night and there was a hushed mumble when I was chatting to some of the senior staff, that there was not going to be a 718 gen GT4....so I suspect at this stage, all bets are off! Also what would you say are the MUST HAVE options?
- GTS interior pack with contrast stitching (expensive)
- -20mm PASM (only £130 I think)
- Dual zone climate
- Smokers pack (covers the cubby hole on the centre console)
- Auto dimming mirrors and wipers
- Reversing sensors or full sensors with rear camera
- Cruise control
