Hello all,

Does anyone know anything about this car located at 911 virgin? I know the guys there have a good rep, but I’m a bit clueless when it comes to Porsche. My last 6 cars have been BMW M - so this is a bit of a learning curve for me.

Any opinions on this car or a 997.1 GT3 would be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I don’t know the car, however my advice is call Tom at 911V - they really are one of the good guys - they really know thier cars and only take in good stock and price them fairly - I’ve bought two cars from them, both over the phone without even seeing them , I really trust Tom and the team , they’ll give you good impartial advice.

Nice looking car - I imagine it will not be around long ; 997 GT3’s are epic.

Like Richard above - I don’t know the car but I do know Tom at 911V in whom I have absolute trust as one of the car-world good guys. I’ve also bought 2 cars from him (2nd one blind) and sold cars to him and he has always acted totally professionally and with absolute honesty. They only stock the best cars and I’m sure there will be no horror stories with their stock.

Good luck and say hi to Tom for me!

Looks tasty from the pics. Would be worth a closer look. Comfort spec isn’t an issue, here. If you want buckets you can always by some nice ones aftermarket. Main point is the car is nice and well looked after.

Its a known car and the penultimate owner is on here sometimes and on the 911uk forum. i popped down just before they took it into stock and if you are in the market for a gt3 it should be on your list.

I bought my 996 GT3 from 911Virgin and couldn’t recommend them highly enough, Tom & Terry are relaxed knowledgable guys and as has be mentioned they only buy decent cars.

I've bought my last two cars from Tom, blind over the phone with nothing more than a couple of photos and an assurance from Tom that the cars were mustard and if i didn't like them or they were mis-described he would pay my travel costs.

They were both lovely, and i still have them both.

Give Tom a call and have a chat about it, looks a nice car.

That car was mentioned in another thread as already being sold. So you best pick up the phone to them ASAP to see what the status is.

To clarify the car isn't sold, it's still available.
Rchamps, more than happy to answer any questions on the car that you may have. We know it well having sold it previously. I'm comfortable with it's pedigree and condition.
To old customers who've shared their personal experiences here, a big thank-you from myself and the 911Virgin team.

Tom sold the GT3 to me in summer 2017. Typical 911v car, very clean, original condition, complete service history with everything that needed doing done.

I really enjoyed my year with the car and whilst I pampered it, having seen it a couple of weeks ago it’s looking even better having been through their sales preparation. Has to be on your list IMO.

Amended/extended shortlist of 'good guys' I'd not hesitate to looking at or buying cars from:
  • 911v
  • JZM
  • RPM
  • RSJ
  • 9e
I heard good things about Ashgood but have never bought or sold a car with them. Anyone confirm this? Would be good to build a nice list of definite, trusteds.

I’d also add RSJ to that list too. I bought my 997.2 turbo from them over the phone and haven’t had a thing wrong with it in the two years I’ve owned it. They don’t tend to stock GT cars though.

Did exactly the same with Ken @ 9E with my Turbo S Cab too!

Reputations are hard won, and so fiercely protected.

JZM are okay but I'm not convinced by whoever paints/repairs their cars when it comes to older Porsches. Some decidedly average paintwork on some cars I've personally viewed even one they recently sold but won't mention which car as some poor enthusiast has just bought it.

Big vote for RSJ here, would happily buy on description alone. Great guys.

As noted previously, they don't tend to stock the GT cars generally, but for anything else in the range they would get my business.

If a tidy, good historied and well specced car like that isn't selling it must be a sign the gt3 market has ground to a complete halt.

As always it’s a sign 2nd hand GT3 sales demand buckets.
