Hi

I am aware that this topic has been done before, but I was hoping to get some more up to date info, as well as an answer to a specific question which I cannot find, so here goes....

My car is 2013 Cayman S with the standard exhaust. I am keen to enhance the noise a little, and my preference is to retrofit PSE. However, I have been quoted around £3500 (!) by my local OPC. Having seen some old threads, I have seen prices quoted £1500-2500 but some of these treads are a little dated. Has anyone had a PSE fitted recently, and if so what was the cost? If anyone has had it done for a competitive price I would be grateful to know which OPC as I am prepared to travel (can PM this info if you prefer).

The alternative is the Carnewal GT exhaust which I have seen good reviews for, and which appears good value. The one question I have is regarding trackdays - has anyone had this done and been to some UK trackdays with it? If so, have there been any issues regarding excessive noise?

Thanks in advance

I had a PSE fitted to my 2013 CS only last week at Hatfield for half the price you were quoted. However, it was one they had in stock so they were happy to it do for a price cheaper than I've ever been quoted anywhere before.

If you go on Tequipment I'm sure its like around 2 to 2.5K fitted........

Other companies do valved exhausts also, but if you want power gains, a manifold with 200cell cats and Cobb tune might be money better spent, and will enhance the noise.

I've never tried these but alot of people in the reviews have them on R8, 987, Aston etc https://www.topgear.co.uk/porsche-boxster-cayman-9...

I had PSE fitted a year ago on my 981 by Porsche Tonbridge. Great service, quick turnaround, and cost iirc £1750.

I was considering a non OEM solution but am grateful I went down the PSE route. The sound is fantastic, in fact it can be downright antisocial at times, but due to the fact it's valved I can switch it into quiet mode for driving through built up areas then into SPORT + PSE on open roads.

Completely changed the car for me. I'd advise contacting Tonbridge if you're local.

Was that with ends as well or did you keep originals

Hope I'm understanding you right, mine is a non-S but had been spec'd with the sport exhaust tips, so I didn't need that. Everything else was full switch out.

Thanks for the replies so far. I'll give OP Tonbridge a call to discuss.
Has anyone got experience with the Carnewal GT exhaust modification and trackday noise limits?
