Bloody good move I reckon.

I don’t like the 911 drop top, so if wanting a drop top this ticks a lot of boxes.

Marvellous.

As an aside it must amuse them they can get away with the spinning swastika on the wheel centres. I did mention this to their CEO a few years back and the reply from Germany was they hadn't noticed.
Who's running Porsche?

New cars are quicker (0.4 Manual v Manual) and more powerful (54hp) than the outgoing 4 pot models. Same torque manual v manual, although delivery might be different

Now that customer feedback has got Porsche to do a bit of a u-turn on the engine, how about we start clamouring for lightweight version of this? Lose 75-100kg and this would be super exciting.

Yep, I'll expect a Cayman R variant a bit later...

I hope they drop the PASM and Torque vectoring for it too.

Not the none too subtle '6' on the drivers jacket at 00:22.

When will Harris etc get their reviews out.

Viper green really works on that car. Porsche are back and I hope they pump our loads of the manuals to help keep the prices of lightly used ones under control...

I think these will be a hot ticket.. a much more appropriate car than the GT4 Twins for most people, and probably even many that have got or are getting one of the GT4 twins but will never see a track.

Pricing is very keen vs the GT4 twins also. It’s these new GTS 4.0 cars that will put pressure on all used 981 prices inc 981 GT4 (unless buyer are specifically looking for a GT car as opposed to comparable performance per £/€ $ + warranty)

Porsche master class in making lemonade from the lemon disaster of the 4-pots. They can convert all the pent up demand, and also now almost unique position in the market as large capacity, NA, manual.

Likely will just help to kill off the overs market. Back to the old pre-991 day’s where you only buy a GT car if you are gonna use it on track...else there is no benefit, not a lifestyle brand.

You can get GT4 performance, and GT4 engine in the same body, for booster with a fully automatic roof all for 10k less and it’s road biased...which is where most of the new GT cars live anyway...they won’t see a track.
You can get the same bucket seats, same stitching, no wing... and road based chassis...’GT4 touring’....lol

Problem is that the gap to a regular joes eye isn’t big enough between new GTS 4.0 and the GT4 twins.

I don't think it will impact them, suspect if anything most able to afford a GTS would be very tempted by a GT4 for an extra 11k.

Chassis wont be the same, the GT4 is equipped with a GT3 front end for example. I'd suspect availability on this to be much greater than on a GT4.

Huge impact on anybody who paid full list for a recent 4 pot GTS I'd expect.

I think it depends with the Spyder - if you want an electric roof and like the shape of a regular boxster then I can see the desire for one. The thing that makes me desire the Spyder besides the NASP engine is how it looks. The streamliners/humps change the side profile and rear view significantly for me and I have never been a fan of regular front end, the GT3 also gives it a different look - more race car looking - this is completely subjective. But it is enough to want the Spyder for a little more money. The seat option and the aero add ons are just a bonus.

Typical ain’t it.......
I’m waiting for a 718 Spyder and the colours available are pants - so Porsche release this
GTS in a green that is considerably more desirable than any available for the 718 GT4 and Spyder.
Bloody hope they open some PTS slots at some point.
