What’s the price....?

Eta: £64k Cayman, £66k Boxster. So well into the £70s then when specced...

About time, these look fantastic cars for the road and I imagine that people who have orders for a 718 GT4/Spyder that only really ordered to flip for a profit or for depreciation free motoring might now be thinking twice about bothering.

I have a mate who buys a lot of Porsches and has an excellent relationship with his OPC and he is taking a GT4 because he can and then plans to flip it straight away because he doesn't want it and it seems easy money.

Will he bother taking delivery now, will others in the same position?

I reckon a lot of people who really want a GT4/Spyder and have expressed an interest at an OPC will be getting phone calls by late this year as I think the bun fight is going to be over soon.

I understand the argument about the GT cars being more desirable, especially at list price but who in their right mind will now pay overs up to 118k for a flipped GT4/Spyder when you can just pop in to an OPC and order a GTS 4.0ltr to your own spec?

Overs on these is finished in my opinion.

Roll on a 4.0ltr manual 718 Cayman R, that really will put the cat amongst the pigeons

It's almost a GT4 Touring.

What's typical Porsche PCP rate & how big a deposit do they let you put down? 🐕

There goes the secondhand values of all previous generation Caysters ! Normality has returned in the Cayster market after the disastrous 981/718 models, IMHO it's the natural replacement for the 987.2!

The new Cayman GTS 6 cyl in the stunning new green seems like a very appealing prospect..If common sense prevails this should end the current £10K overs on the GT4..A simple ECU tune from any respected tuner will replace the lost 20PS for a few hundred quid..

How so? This is a 70 grand car and so is probably out of reach for most owners. Not sure it will have much of an impact outside of the outgoing F4 GTS perhaps.

So is the 2.5 S model still in production then?

I assume not

I see the 'S' model has been removed from Porsche UK's website.

Just base / T / GTS / GT4 and Spyder now...

Already had my order in for this since October last year. It appears nothing has changed spec wise bar the engine. Comparing the spec i did in October which was using the old GTS config against the 4.0 the price works out the same bar £1k.

The first world problem now though is at this price point were into 991.2 GTS money, which has already taken it's initial hit in deprication and is of course a 911 with more performance than a Cayman. Decisions decisions........

It still shows up within the Cayman model section, and is also on the configurator. I don’t think the S was ever listed separately in its own section like the T and GTS.

So is there no PDK option? I've been worried I might actually have to trade my 981 GTS in for the new 718 6cyl but I can relax if there's no PDK and my wallet will thank me for it. Having spent about 4 years driving 5 auto cars and finally accepting auto boxes, in spite of much kicking and screaming, I'm not going back now.

Or is it just a case of them making PDK an option in a few months?
