Saving I think is a relative term, having just looked I see there are now only 10 up for sale (with OPCs), I could have sworn a month ago there were at least 20 up for sale, they're going up in price too... if you like the white car go for it, if you just preferred a different colour combination, may be worth looking to getting one shipped over?

(But this Guards red one is only one owner, 480 miles and has the CS Pack smile)

Good luck in your search, I think given the supply issues and the way the market is the values are going to trend up until autumn, they're a brilliant car to drive, keep finding excuses to put miles on mine. (Who knew the only shop with milk was so far away.. down some lovely b roads... biggrin)

Yep agree there were 17 OPC GT4s for sale around a week back.

Also only 1 GT3 (comfort) in the OPC network a couple of days ago.

The market has gone into overdrive as predicted.

Just looked on auto trader with not many 981 GT4s for sale, also the price hike on all GT cars has gone mental and doesn’t look like stopping, any thoughts on this

Everything is up, book values are increasing month on month.
But it’s all relative...

718 GT4s are now at £105k so understandably 981 GT4s have tracked these higher.

But all cars are up and by huge amounts too. Cap clean June rose 10 % on May and July looks like another 10% up on June for many cars.

Whether this will be the end for cheap UK used cars remains to be seen but it could well be for the medium term at least well into 2022 due to the severe constraints on used stock and parts supply issues set to continue.

Many manufacturers are cutting new car production and JLR is stopping production which will fan the flames of price rises used even more.

WBAC are bidding well over retail for most stock which reflects their confidence of major future price rises across all sectors and for some time to come.

I aren’t sure what to do with mine I love the car but definitely food for thought with the prices at the minute and I do like to try different cars. Of course what I buy will also be more expensive at the minute.

Anything you look to buy will be similarly inflated. Perhaps the sensible thing to do would be to sell the car and wait it out until other prices come down, but that's a massive unknown and I'd be wanting to make the most of the summer, personally driving

Yep and agree, unless your car is worth proportionally more than what you paid…in which case you might us the time to ‘move up’ the ladder if the relative cost remains the same, just that you gained a bit of capital as the value of the GT4 increased vs what your cost to acquire it.

Problem there isn’t much that worth the jump that isn’t a lot lot more…

It's all going a bit nuts, the bottom of the ladder for these was about to drop into the 50's! That waiting game I was playing has gone badly wrong!

Like equities this shows it is broadly impossible to time the market.

Everyone predicted used car prices would tank Spring 2020 but the opposite happened. Again everyone predicted they would tank again this year but even greater price increases occured and the percentage rises are expected to continue well into 2022 across the board and especially on limited run cars.

All I can say I is am so glad I bought my GT4 in the depths of winter when prices were as low as they went all last year.
I think it could be cheap motoring but I think it could be a keeper as I love it to bits. Most surprising is how comfy the carbon bucket seats and suspension are.
Could be a keeper

That’s good to hear about the buckets & suspension. I messed up royally and did not buy a low mile 6 month old car very close to my ideal spec, the price agreed now seems like a bargain! I’ve a slot for a new one so it’s not that bad but I won’t see the new car until Oct.

Not quite correct. I’ve seen only one car listed at £105K which seems to have been sold in the last few days. However that car was a particularly high spec example that was almost £101k OTR.
The most ambitiously priced car I can see right now (in terms of overs) is a basic spec’d car at Edinburgh listed at £99.5k….. £15k over approx OTR….. good luck to them.

Three of those cars at over £100k appear to have sold too, so looks like buyers are there.

For sure buyers are there, but that car listed at Silverstone was £102k OTR when new (it’s a hell of a spec), so on paper holding money, love to know what the OPC gave the seller, £94k???
