I'm starting to get itchy feet. The longer the wait the more time spent on AT and PH classifieds. There's a lot of tasty metal out there for circa £80K cash.
I had to scratch my itchy feet - have bought a 2017 911.2 GTS with less than 10k miles for the same money whilst I weigh up which I will keep. Not sure I'll go back to the Boxster tbh - love the 911! At least I've still got a convertible for the summer, been great the last couple of days
Likewise. I’ve got a 4.0 GTS on order (2022??) and have just bought a low mileage 981 Spyder. Not sure which to keep.

The Boxster 25 will be a classic almost instantly. Certainly 10 years from now. It just needs its finish and leather quality to look as good as in the photos. We know the engine and thats as good as its going to get. And then there is the moment Porsche stop making combustion engines. Let's say it 15 years from now. As long as global governments don't prohibit engines altogether from ,say , 2040 - then the Boxster25 will take its place beside 2.7 RS, 959, 964 turbo, GT2, etc, etc.

My contacts at Porsche. Objectively, (well for me anyway), it's one of the most desirable Porsche models on sale at present. I think I'd therefore still hang in there if it got delayed. I believe they will have to prioritise production given it's an anniversary model. According to the original marketing info, from memory, it should have been hitting the showrooms from about now!

Thanks for that. I agree I think it looks superb. Would of liked it a month or so earlier tbh. But should be worth the wait

Got a call from my OPC to say I've definitely got one and they've been expecting build slots to be confirmed in the last couple of weeks so it shouldn't be too long till I get the lockdown call. On that basis I'm going to keep the faith and my fingers crossed a bit longer.

It won't stop me looking in the classifieds and dreaming of owning other stuff though wink

Ordered mine with black. Just couldn’t sit in the full abattoir spec, it was the red steering wheel that tipped me over the edge. Still showing May deliverysmile

Yep black for me too. I can't do the red, its just too much and reminds me of some seedy clubs I frequented in my misspent youth smile I am however going to add red seatbelts for some contrast colour in the cabin along with the red hood.

So your opc asked you for the final lock down spec and it’s coming next month ?
That’s great news. My opc keeps saying he doesn’t think any opc in the country have been given build slots yet

Good video, looks great. I've gone all in with the red. One of the small details I think is great is the windscreen surround in black.

I started off thinking that I’d ditch the red completely. So black roof, interior, brake calipers black anyway. This is the config that I set with the initial allocation. I definitely couldn’t live with the red interior. End of. But I’m now thinking red roof, belts and instruments. The video persuades me in that direction too.

Your OPC is fibbing, my lock down date has passed. Last time I checked it was still showing for build this month. Not sure what week number because we are in lockdown at the moment but as soon as I can pop in to the OPC I will get him to crack up the system and have a look at progress. I will report back if anything changes.

As promised popped into the OPC this morning and had a look on the system for my car. Annoyingly it’s gone back 3 weeks. Start of production is now target 10 May with delivery to dealer target of 14th June. Previously it was due to start build next week. In my experience once it actually starts build then the process flows smoothly, up to start of production it’s a lottery. Patience is a virtue in these times rolleyes
