GT4RS - Availability, what’s the latest?

But as far as I can see all the unsold cars have been specced with Weissach. I wonder why ?
Notthing like as bad as when I was considering a new from dealer stock 992 GTS earlier in the year. Every single one of them I could find had a glass roof! Couldn't quite believe not a single dealer in the UK chose to spec one as a sports car for occasional track days. Probably as well, as it meant I hung on for the GT4 RS, with the dreaded Weissach pack of course... TDT said:
You have to know what you are looking for ->
- A full Manthey Kit car will have passive dampers, aero and brake kit.
- Some people just install the dampers or just pads + lines
- For 981 GT4 & 718 GT4 there is small camber kit - this is MR not tequipment and is not officially available for 4RS although the 718 kit fits and does the same job,
- You cannot get the MR aero kit without having the dampers.
- Or just have an geo set on the Manthey branded measuring system - this is a major gripe of mine… which I’ve vented on before - wont do again here.
As for the behaviour of the dampers ->
They offer more significantly control and support. Typically in the most recent kits… front spring rate is increased in order to reduce the difference front to rear. Along with a much more sophisticated damper where you can finely control compression and rebound profile for your purpose. This makes the car more stable and front to rear response is more coordinated. You can make the car ride race car stiff or back them off to allow breathing with the road.
Having had them on both my 981 GT4 and then Full Manthey Kit inc aero on 718 GT4…. the gap in PASM configuration on the 4RS is obvious even with the extra spring rate of the 4RS. It’s one of those… difficult to unlearn what you’ve learnt scenarios.
The damping ideally needs better calibration and you can see that Porsche have learned that this is what customers want - as per 992 3RS, S/T and now 992.2 GT3.
@TDT…. Am i reading your post correctly? Are you saying that no garage equipped with the Manthey measuring system will set the geo on a stock car ? - A full Manthey Kit car will have passive dampers, aero and brake kit.

‘Manthey’ is now a nice little profit line for the ‘Porsche market’, and what i meant is just be careful of what you are paying for.
With whole Manthey setup equipment thing… a shop might gladly put your car on the equipment and apply a setup.
They’ll then call it a ‘Manthey setup’ and charge you a nice premium for the privilege… despite it being the same setup they could have achieved on any other measuring table or worse, irrespective what the setup numbers actually are.
Caveat Emptor - The equipment is only as good as the operator.
I am getting grumpier and more cynical these days it seems lol.

Was initially thinking of a fast road setup (which is i guess taking the camber to the max on stock, and adjusting toe). I will use the car for Track, but I also do a lot of fast Alp driving tours in mixed weather conditions, so maybe a track setup is a little too aggressive?
Any advice welcome… Maybe it’s me, but not seeing the need for lowering (Thinking our sh*t B roads) and corner weighting ( a passenger will offset this gain no?)

Just ask for maximum that the car will allow and the shop may take a little bit of ride height off on the spring perches…. But the car will automatically be little lower with more negative camber anyway. i wouldn't bother with corner weighting unless you are really focusing on track work - but double check what you are paying for and the proceed accordingly. 4RS will get to around ball park of -2.5° F / 2.0° R (degrees decimal), at standard ride height with nothing more than a couple of 3mm shims in the front.

Interesting choice for a paint to sample colour.
Looks a very high spec car.

That is fully loaded. £175K new, quite a drop in 18months. Circa £125 trade, so £17.50p per mile. Hope they enjoyed them.Looks a very spec car.

Depreciation on the GT cars has over the long term been rather better than other Porsche models ... and Porsche in general have been significantly better than other brands. I will be happy if this ends the silly "overs" game that blocked the market for prospective owners who would keep rather than roll-over trade their cars back to the OPC's for the OPC to take the premium.
Depreciation on a keeper Porsche has not in the past been too expensive ... and it is better than being locked out of the market ... or being stung for a premium and the bigger losses currently being experienced. The idea of endless growth in this market was always a risky strategy ...
We will just have to wait and see ... hopefully this forum will help ... maybe even with peer to peer trades ?

Yep the new norm is now not so much how much premium ££ a Porsche GT makes but more a case of how much you DON'T lose compared to the competition/ other similar priced new cars.Depreciation on a keeper Porsche has not in the past been too expensive ... and it is better than being locked out of the market ... or being stung for a premium and the bigger losses currently being experienced. I notice 6 of the brand new unregistered gt4rs cars currently listed for sale on the official Porsche web site don’t show any examples of their current PCP figures.
Not sure where you have managed to get a GFV at 80k, over a sensible term. Some on the official Porsche website are now sub 70k after 41 months PCP.
Wowsers, thats pretty much the deposit I could put down on this, those are still some hefty numbers, ouch. I would really like a Spyder RS, but not at 2k a month. I found residuals worsening week on week for these even through brokers. The reduction in residuals make the monthly payments the same and if not worse
You may be correct. To me it looks like VW finance are now pushing GFV down. Look at the predicated value VW are willing to work to on this one. It’s a 04/24 car which now lists around 175k new.
