My extended warranty on the GT3 is soon up and I am keen to renew it.

Can’t get any response out of my OPC so does anyone know if you need a 111 point check to extend it or whether you can just renew if it has been serviced by an OPC in the interim (which it has)?

Thanks

No it doesn’t need the check you can just extend if within service requirements and your is by the sound of it.

Some OPCs were slow to catch up after COVID dispensing with the 111 point check. It was me that pointed it out to the service manager after he insisted I needed one when I went to extend mine rolleyes

Not a GT3 but we’ve just extended our Turbo S over the phone, ‘remotely’ but admittedly, it’s serviced by the supplying OPC AND is booked in for its next one in a few weeks.

I think a leading Indie explained to me that the most recent service has to be OPC but aside from that, it is more relaxed than it used to be.

I was told (last week) by OPC that you still have to do it in person so they can check the mileage? And that the paperwork takes “ages”. And that the car needs to be within a current warranty to avoid the 111 check.

How was it over the phone?

That was my recent experience. My car was in for an MOT and the paperwork took a good 30-45 minutes to sort out. My letter from Porsche GB stated the same re. the 111-point check.

Mine was also over the phone but was due a service just before which I also had done. Got told at the same time that it’s over the phone.

Had to send copies of V5 and clear photo of mileage. Porsche assistance pack arrived a few days ago. It does go for service in a few weeks and is currently under warranty.

Supplied by and FSH with same OPC. I’m sure that helped wink

Just renewed OPC warranty in February 2023. Cars previous warranty period expired in November 2022.

Warranty was renewed after green light 111 Inspection and subject to Full and complete OPC SH.

If your OPC warranty is still in date and your OPC services are all in place its simply a phone call to automatically renew warranty.

As a footnote, some OPC's are "OK" with aftermarket exhausts being on the car at the OPC. My experience is spend a couple of hours refitting OEM system before you turn up at your OPC.

My Warranty Extension invitation arrived this morning. This is for cars with an existing Porsche New Car Guarantee or Porsche Approved Warranty.

The 111 point check is not required and the cost is £1,070/ £1,930/ £2,890 for 12, 24 or 36 months.

If the New Car Guarantee or Approved Warranty has expired you need a Stand-alone Warranty at a cost of £1,150/ £2,010/ £2,970 for 12, 24 or 36 months plus the 111-point check, the price of which is down to your Porsche Centre (plus repair of any faults).

Cover is up to 15 years so at 14 years you can get a 12 month warranty, 13 years a 24 month warranty and 12 years a 36 month warranty.

Mileage must be less than 125,000 miles at the point of Warranty activation.

The invitation says that cover is comparable with the Porsche New Car Guarantee.

I have previously renewed the Warranty by phone but the form does need to be signed subsequently.

The price for my Warranty extension 2 years ago was £1,840.

Roadside Assistance is not mentioned but 2 years ago was £285 for the 2 years.

I just got an email from my OPC about the warranty renewal on my 991.2 GT3
It was serviced last November and the current warranty runs out in May. I can avoid the 111 point check and renew by email with a photo of V5 and proof of mileage if I respond by the end of April.

For a 1-year warranty policy with Porsche Assistance this is a cost of £1,245 including VAT
For a 1-year warranty policy without Porsche Assistance this is a cost of £1,070 including VAT

For a 2-year warranty policy with Porsche Assistance this is a cost of £2,215 including VAT
For a 2-year warranty policy without Porsche Assistance this is a cost of £1,930 including VAT

For a 3-year warranty policy with Porsche Assistance this is a cost of £3,275 including VAT
For a 3-year warranty policy without Porsche Assistance this is a cost of £2,890 including VAT

Just as expected & no surprises.

Interesting thread.

My OPC insists the car needs a 111 check to renew the warranty, even though my extended warranty doesn't expire for another month. It sounds like I should use another OPC.

In any case, my car is nearing the 125k cutoff. Am I right in saying I could take out a three-year warranty at 124k, which will continue regardless of mileage until the three years are over?

Is the warranty transferable to a new private owner, even if it's over the 125k miles?
