New Macan S vs GTS?
Discussion
Green is lovely health to drive! My better half ended up getting a crayon T and it’s a brilliant thing.
Only 300 miles on it so far but I’m genuinely impressed with it, it sounds great with the sports exhaust and handles so well.
You have to rev it and it does feel flat in normal mode but it is far from slow in sport/sport plus.
Great, great cars I never knew how good they are!

Yep surprising how little difference.
For me the handling differences would have pushed me to a GTS. But the green S I've landed has all the GTS suspension options so I'm happy.
I don't like the pedal in normal, but in sport or sport + it's mapped differently and works well. So Sport Chrono is a must as well as the PASM air suspension.
That car did look very nice. The right wheels and I would have loved a green one. However, buying new it meant going for PTS which cost £5.5k more than standard metallic, which I couldn’t justify. does anyone have experience of the GTS sport - 10mm vs air suspension?
My previous GTS had steel suspension and the current one has air, both on 20" Spyders. I'd say that air is better but that doesn't mean I found steel bad. Was there anything specific you wanted to know?Voodoo Blue said:

Thanks. The current config only has air suspension with the standard GTS -10mm, with a free option to be normal height as could be optioned on the S. My question is has anyone got experience of both and is the normal height better for uk roads for day to day use when on the 21” wheels.

I found the GTS with -10mm has a significantly firmer ride, it wouldn’t be a deal breaker and it still rides really well but it’s definitely noticeable. My question is has anyone got experience of both and is the normal height better for uk roads for day to day use when on the 21” wheels.
They all ride unbelievably well considering the 21” wheels so I wouldn’t worry!
I went for the “normal” air on my GTS based on several reviews I read. I have no complaints so far about either the handling or the ride quality. Both seem excellent. Obviously it’s an SUV but despite 21” wheels it cushions London speed humps way better than my last car, which was a 4-series on 19s with adaptive suspension.
I went for black calipers on mine also, the other stood out too much.
I also went for a S over a GTS, exterior styling and preference for the S with 18way leather seats won it.
It's like the green one but blue
, essentially spec'd with all the goodies so its near a GTS.
I love it, fantastic car.

I'm beginning to wish I'd gone 18-way rather than 14s.
The back rest on the 14s just doesn't offer enough side support for the corners. I feel like I'm being tipped out of the chair, and I'm not exactly gunning it. The seat base side bolsters are fine, but I didn't go 18-way because I didn't want the high bolsters on the seat base.
The comfort seats on my previous Cayenne offered more side support on the backrest, they were perfect. The Macan seats are narrower in that regard.

A quick question to those in the know, as you have all been on your journey with Porsche...
Am I right in thinking that Porsche offer zero discount on buying a new car? The statement/general sentiment from the sales person was broadly - Porsche sell enough products at their RRP to not bother with providing discounts, if you don't like it, go and buy from a different manufacturer.
I'm new to the brand (from a purchasing point of view), so some insight/guidance here would be really useful. The car in question is a new Macan S.
Thanks in advance!

On my first one (a Cayenne), I managed to get a discount on a two-bike bike rack for the towbar.
On my second (at the same dealership) I managed to get coloured wheel centre caps and the space saving spare wheel thrown in.
I asked for a discount but was offered another cup of tea and one of those crappy little biscuits instead.
So in summary, try and get something cheap thrown in on your first go and you might be ok.
