I didn't buy it. nor did I buy another car.
Since I posted originally, I shifted my interest to trying to find a really nice manual 850Ci or perhaps an 840Ci. And then life took a turn for the worse and my elderly mother, who I'd been caring for for a long time, died. After that I decided that acquiring more cars was not the best idea considering that I already have four and now on my own and with no real family links here in the UK, there's a possibility of my deciding to move abroad where the weather is better, the roads are better and the food is better. And I currently have three cars at home and another in a rented garage. I need to move to somewhere more conducive to multi car ownership first, or get rid of something I already have!

Any excuse!

My first ever car. Starting the way I intended to carry on. I often wonder if it’s out there somewhere still.
Is that Cassis Red Metallic ?
Can't be many in RHD
PS. Sorry for your loss, LunarOne.

We've found stints of circa 600 miles per day with a track session thrown in to be most rewarding.
928 chairs are highly comfortable which keeps the GF happy, along with a quick coffee stop or 3 ofcourse.
Your car is probably still out there, eating up the miles !

Can you recall the reg? I know a cassis S4.
I know it was a 1987 car and the registration started with an E. I think it might have been E328 or something like that because I sort of remember at the time thinking it was a shame it was only one digit from being a 928 numberplate. Not sure if this is helpful...but very excited to hear that it might still be out there somewhere and hopefully still going strong!

I had a freshly rebuilt engine put in mine, taken from an E plate Cassis. The Cassis car was going to be used for parts, but they in turn got a decent used engine and now it is being restored. The pre 88 S4 engines were the best ones, they had better oil galleys and piston oilers.
I might not see it for a month or so, but I should get a peek at it at some point when mine goes in for some work. When I see it, I will let you know.
